The arguements will undoubtedly go on and on regarding woman only poker games and although I agree it doesnt seem fair these games are without a doubt good value and so it would be silly not to take advantage.

The Betfair womans poker tour in particular has caught my eye so I thought I would give it a go. They are running $1 sats every night into the $10 final but the last 2 nights it hasnt even made a full table and was cancelled. Tonight however there were 20ish which was unexpected.

Just before the game started there was an anouncement pop up saying "This tourney is open to ALL why not win a seat for your spouse" EEHHH!!!

Now I know that it is easy enough to get your hubby/friend who is a better player to play on your account or even have him buy you in for the full amount but is this not just plain wrong to actively encourage men to play and win a seat for their partners in a womans only game?

Do you mean the betfred one Suzanne?

This goes against the advice that was posted on the thread which was that only female account holders could enter the sats.  Seems unfair if someone qualifies for the final because their hubby/male friend won a game for them.  You should put a link to this thread on there and see what Laxie has to say about this....

Agree ladies,

not a lot can be done about a spouse playing on their partners user, but to encourage it in what should be a woman only tourney is wrong.

Yes its the Betfred one.

As you said Laxie specifically said that accounts would be checked and it was strictly woman only.

I guess they are looking for more runners but still wrong IMO

agree - if they're not getting enough runners they should either advertise more or reduce the frequency of the games.

Hi all.  It was decided, after a bit of debate, that trying to keep tabs on the runners every night would be too much hassle.  The end result...anyone can enter the satellites and anyone can win.  If it happens to be a male, they have to transfer the prize to a Woman.  I did not go into this intending to lead anyone wrong and was caught for a hop as much as anyone else when I realised anyone can enter the satellites.  It was news to me earlier this week as much as it was to everyone else.  That said...I'll still play as often as I'm left, I'll still try as much as I have to and I'll still appear at most (if not all) live comps in the tour.  I consider the online satellites 'practice' for the big ones.  I don't care who's at the other end of the computer...all good in the end.  If anyone feels they were mislead, it was not my intention.  I am not being paid to promote these.  I just go with what information I have in front of me and I believe in the end result.  Blind fool?  Maybe.   Happy?  Very definitely yes.

Hi Laxie, I am sure it was not intentional that we were misinformed but IMHO this just makes a mockery of the whole "womans poker tour"

As you posted it is a way of encouraging woman into the game who might not otherwise play...me being one of them as my live experience is very limited.

I actually find it rather insulting that men are being encouraged to "win a seat for their partner", is this not insinuating that men are better players than women.

As you said its all practice fun because at the end of the day the its the woman who has to sit at the table but it has definately put a dampener on the whole thing if you ask me.

From my brief reading of the thread it is my understaning that all the tournaments are online, is this correct?

If it is - Do Betfair vet people when they open an account on the site?

I dont have a betfair account so what is to stop me opening one as a female?

Matt, they probably wouldn't even find out that you're not actually human.
