oh dear, the Liverpool fan has been awoken from his slumbers

I gained a poor impression of him from his time in the England set up

Legend of a player - but I don't know if he'd make a decent manager or not.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Might turn out like Souness, Robson and others - or he might turn out to be more of a Keane.

How very refreshing that no-one has picked West Ham to go down!

In reply to an earlier post, no I'm not on drugs! I think Derby will struggle next season; like has already been pointed out they only have a championship squad, with some bright young players - but I believe they have a very special manager in Billy Davies. I think he'll motivate them and get the very best out of them. I think he will, eventually, end up going onto alot bigger things...

Derby is his proving ground.

Brum have got players...and a bit of money...but I don't think much of Steve Bruce as a manager. I might well be wrong...

I'm still indifferent about Bruce but blues have a LOT of money and it looks like they are prepared to spend some finally.
Derby are not good, have very little money and a manager who has no record to speak of.
We shall see what happens over the summer

That's the important bit there.  Got a bit of money, and apparently the board have said they're not afraid to spend it.

that is surely too harsh. One of the great things about Britisih football used to be that teams could go through from bottom to top division...eg Watford under Taylor, the old Wimbledon etc

Its a shame that the financial resources are so entrenched now that it is extremely unlikely to happen

but this "big club" mentality of wishing that smaller clubs can't make it as its "pointless" is something I completely disagree with

If they get up by on the field results then good luck to them

I suppose "big clubs" would feel the same next season if Colchester, Scunthorpe or Barnsley went up.

If that happened though i regard that as a good thing. Not least for that clubs supporters who wouldhave a season to remember just like Swindon etc did all thoseyears ago.
