APAT Exit Hand
«
on:
June 03, 2007, 01:14:27 PM »
Down to 3 tables in the Dublin APAT and I have 60k chips which is above average.
The blinds are 1.5k/3k
I get AQ offsuit in mid position and raise to 10k.
All fold to the BB (recent addition to the table) who makes the call for another 7k.
Flop AJ rag
The BB bets 15k.
I am pretty sure that I am ahead and raise to 30k.
The BB calls.
Turn rag.
The BB pushes and has me covered.
I call for my remaining 20k.
He turns over TK and hits one of the remaining Queens on the river to make his straight and knock me out.
Should I have played this any differently?

Unlucky Mark, this was LeKnave against you huh?
don't think you did anything wrong. Hindsight allowing, raise all in on the flop when you are sure you are ahead, don't give him the chance to hit..

It wasn't LeKnave. It was some other LuckBox
I've thought maybe I should have pushed on the flop but I'm not sure the outcome would have been any different!

Its strange to push with the gut shot.
At this stage of the tourney if he has an above Irish stack then surely he should be consolidating and picking off better opportunities.
What does he gain if he gets called and misses?
Seems like a very strange play to me.

You are playing for a pot of 120,000
You have A-Q on a A-J-X-X board
All the chips are in the middle.
Your opponent has K-10.
There is one card to come....
....is it possible to play this hand any better?
