The new playing cards were indeed shocking. It was genuinely difficult to tell between a 9 and a 6 (look just at the corner, and you will see), and to tell between the suits on the board. Really quite worrying that with a year to plan, the commitee managed to come up with a playing card that people couldn't see.

Anyway, they lasted just 90 minutes in event one, before the number of complaints brought the proper ones back.

Watch out for the $5k Omaha event today. In an amazingly star-studded field, Devilfish held the chip lead just before the end last night; England's first braceelet could be on the way.

Our WSOP results page has been updated up to and including Event #7, the $5,000 Omaha rebuy which, although only lured in 145 runners, gave us our biggest winner of the Series so far.

Events 8 and 9 have also come to conclusion and the results added to our WSOP Results page on the Main Site.

Well done to Dusk Till Dawn's Richard Ashby on making a final table.

doesn't he own a chocolate factory.

this is quite interesting if you haven't read it. basically according to american law it would seem that you can legally copy chipcounts from other websites.

Interesting thread, byron, ta. This post has always worried me...

Quote
Accounts and descriptions are content and can be under copyright. Facts are fact and can not be copyrighted.

This precedent was set by the US Court of Appeals in the NBA vs. SportsTrax case.

Descriptions of the event = content = illegal to copy
Chip counts = facts = anyone can post it anywhere

If Tony G thinks he is being stolen from, my guess is that someone sold him something that they didn't have the right to sell.

Are chip counts actually facts though if mistakes are certain (as is human nature at a comp of this size) to be made?

Event 14 is done and dusted. Good to see some bacon being brought back to Europe.
