helloooo. was just wondering if i could get the opinions of how i played this hand, and do u call on the river? my initial plan was to check call but was suprised at the bet that came in. the opponent had only been at table for 10 mins and had doubled up on his 3rd or 4th hand with a dodgy straight on river

 Hand Start.
 Seat 1 : ajacob225 has $290
 Seat 2 : kablame has $256.50
 Seat 3 : rgettyshen has $121
 Seat 4 : todder1 has $300
 Seat 5 : shcutty has $592.37
 Seat 6 : vaughn has $155.75
 Seat 7 : AgentChp109 has $317.02
 Seat 8 : jjkiss has $0
 Seat 9 : Archilles has $158
 vaughn is the dealer.
 AgentChp109 posted small blind.
 Archilles posted big blind.
Game [16177] started with 6 players.
 Dealing Hole Cards.
 Seat 7 : AgentChp109 has
 kablame called $4
 rgettyshen folded.
 shcutty called $4
 vaughn folded.
 AgentChp109 called $2 and raised $20
 Archilles folded.
 kablame folded.
 shcutty called $20
 Dealing flop.
 Board cards [ ]
 AgentChp109 bet $32
 shcutty called $32
 Dealing turn.
 Board cards [ ]
 AgentChp109 bet $64
 shcutty called $64
 Dealing river.
 Board cards [ ]
 AgentChp109 checked.
shcutty has 10 seconds to respond.
 shcutty bet $300

Huh?

call for me. Your check on the river says you have a busted FD and that's why he can bet out this big. He could have anything..including KQ (most likely a weaker Q than yourself unless you've seen him slow play KK/AA before.

Overbets like this usually mean "monster" or bluff.

Well, what can he have that beats you?

AA/KK- would have raised pre-flop

55- possible, but most players like to raise sets before river

A4- possible, but most likely to have raised turn

If he's loose then he could have called you down with 77, and got lucky. I doubt this though because he let the timer run down, and most players who would overbet this rivered hand would do so almost instantly.

Hand Histories with no "time markings" only tell part of the story. How long did he take to act on the flop/turn? If his calls were fairly quick, then there is a good chance that he has a busted flush draw.

What do you know of your opponent? If the answer is "nothing" then why not? Even if he's only been at the table for 10 minutes this session, with Poker Tracker/PAHUD running you would most likely have enough info on him to help you make a decision.

With no other info to hand, it looks like a missed flush.

He has Qx here about 2% of the time.

shcutty is down as loose-passive -> aggressive on pokeredge. i'd have to fold. based on this. he could easily have 54. or 68 of clubs given what his suggested preflop tendancies would be.
i don't like the check on the river though to be fair. you invite yourself into a difficult decision.

Calling here is exceptionally read-dependant. So few online players are capable of making a bluff this big. You simply cannot call here and win most of the time.
He could definitely have a house/quads/overpair. Im seeing more and more players slowplay hands that really they should be betting with in order to prevent scarecards dropping.
You have been betting the whole way showing that your scared of the draw with pot-sized bets. Ur beat, insta fold.

Super Insta call.

You have $100 in the middle and $200 left.

A dwell and bet would indicate hes bluffing more than value betting aswell

INSTA INSTA INSTA INSTA call. Get your house deeds in that pot aswell
