Just wanted to say I really hope Liverpool don't go down. Hate to see big clubs fall from grace.

Great news. Can't find a bad word about John Henry.
Hicks lol - probs the most untruthful interview ever given by an owner.
Now we just have to not get relegated!
I think just the way the two individuals conduct themselves speaks volumes. I'm far from a Liverpool fan, but this is really exciting. I'm hoping to see a football club emerge to gain success through good management and business acumen - rather than the business negligence and astronomic spending displayed by others.
I've warmed to Liverpool over the last year or so; the fans definitely deserve better. They should be applauded for the campaign they conducted. A victory for real football fans. They really gained my respect when they applauded our team off last week. To take the time to do that, in the middle of the biggest crisis in their history, oozed class.
ps. I've been quietly reading this thread for weeks and have really enjoyed The Barons contributions. KUTGW!
I only saw MOTD highlights but apparently you were better from start to finish and didn't fanny around with time wasting at the end of the game as most clubs in your position would have.
Respeck for the rest of your post sir - I think a lot of people would have loved to see us take a 9 point hit.

I just cannot believe how bad we are at both ends of the pitch. Finances aside, Gerrard and Reina aside, we're just awful.

Roy is just not up to scratch, he is a nice guy and did OK with Fulham but it's quite clear he is just not good enough.
Obviously most of the players are woeful as well and need to go....reckon Liverpool need approx 9 good players to turn them in to a decent side again...and they're not going to get them...but I think the new owners have to try to convince Martin O'Neil to come on board ASAP as you can't give Hodgson £40mill to spend on new players...That would just be money down the drain.

I wouldn't trust O'Neil with £40mil! Madness.
The squad isn't that bad imo. Never going to have the depth of City but I think only 3 players short of a squad that should challenge them and Spurs for 4th. Should still be aiming for top 6/7 with this squad.

I'm not a massive fan of "WOY" but to say he did OK at Fulham is a massive understatement,he did no less than a superb job there, can't really see how that's even debatable.I also don't understand your saying that Liverpool need 9 players to be a decent side again, which is crazy btw but anyway if that's the case then how's it Hodgson's fault there doing so bad, surely it's the lack of good players. The one thing Liverpool desperately need and have done for at least two seasons is a second striker, they rely as much on Torres as we did Shearer and you just can't expect him to be on it every single game and when he goes through a spell like he is at the minute it's hugely magnified by the fact nobody else can help fill the gap.

Liverpool line-up for Saturday;
Reina, Good goalie
Carragher, Played out of position because the defense is still not good enough without him.And I get the feeling he's not enjoying life at the moment and is not playing well.
Skrtel, OK player
Kyrgiakos, Surely not good enough?
Konchesky, what?
Gerrard, Obv good
Lucas, OK player but way too young.
Meireles,
does FA for most of the game
Cole, Still think he's worth £120k a week?
Maxi Rodriguez, Ah well...ok'ish
Torres. top class when on form and interested..but he's not and you have nothing to replace him with,
Subs: Jones, Aurelio, Jovanovic, Babel, Ngog, Spearing, Kelly.
Fairly weak bench, really. N'gog is OK but again is too young to have all the pressure on him when Torres is out of form.
So approx 9 won't be far off IMO.

Really? I think he's MILES ahead of other potentially available managers that have EPL experience.
Rijkaard is rumoured to be favourite...you can also trust him with 40mill, he has some nice contacts.

I'd have Jol, Rijkaard, Pelligirni (all of whom are realistic targets imo) ahead of O'Neill and thats just for starters.
If Jol could take Suarez with him that would be ideal.

Suarez is a bit tasty..and shouldn't be too expensive.

We are short of 3 strikers imo. Way to much pressure on Torres to deliver! This has been our struggle for the last 3 years. Woy has brought in 2 donkeys, Poullsen who is a right bag of spanners! And konshitty, well he is really poor...
We have enough creativity in the team, Woy just doesnt let them get on it with it. We play really narrow and all down the middle, there is just no spark! We also play so deep its mental!! I've never known a liverpool side to play so far in our own half....
I think 100% that this team would deliver a different set of results with the right man in charge. Even getting King kenny back till the end of the year would add some stability and much needed passion into the side!!! As for MON! Please not him, his man skills are worse than Raffa's were.
Not v positive at the moment, and I dont think we can be until the right man is in place! WOY is not that man....

I actually didn't think he should have got the job in the first place but think now he has been giving it he should be giving the chance to put his mark on the club.As I said somewhere previously managers reputations are built and ruined far too quickly imo.I agree MON would not be the answer, who there is that would want it I have no idea, maybe David Moyes ??

whyever not?
superb long term track record in the transfer market, albeit mostly at levels below Liverpool's new budget.
