Pretty sure Agger and Skrtel are better than Evans and Smalling!

They were solid as a rock first half, till Agger went off with a mystery "illness". Puff imo, should carry on and fight for the team (i apologise if he had a really serious injury, no doubt Kinboshi will inform everyone that he suffered from a rare case of chronic lepracy in the first half and make me look like an evil bellend).

I am better than Martin Skrtel.

Liverpool were mediocre today but I think mediocrity is where the bar has to be set with this squad of players. The bench is a good indicator of team strength, and the options on the bench must have Kenny scratching his head. Badly out of form players or young players who might become good ones in the future. It must be like managing Coventry City or something.

29. Tomasz Kuszczak  (GK)
7. Michael Owen
8. Oliveira Anderson
12. Chris Smalling
14. Javier Hernandez
18. Paul Scholes
23. Jonathan Evans

If Liverpool signed any of those players they would be snapped into the starting line-up. Apart from goalie obv.

Except Anderson/keeper you are right.

Anderson is better than most of your midfielders.

Dont think Owen would get a shout

Don't rate Anderson at all

Think you could both be right about Anderson - but he's young and there is huge potential there.

Went to OT a few times the year you boys won the CL and he was either amazing or terrible with 70% of games being terrible. Always seemed to play well with Hargreaves.

LOL - Kuyt has bad games, but he plays well more times than not.  Yesterday was not an example of Kuyt having a bad game, was it?

He's a WC finalist FFS, how can anyone doubt that the man is, at least, useful in a footieside battling relegation is beyond me. He always puts in the effort and going forward he's always a threat. I would almost say Kuyt is underrated TBH.

Agree. Some say he's overrated but I'm not sure how.

No it wasn't, but pre-yesterday he's been lacking his usual energy imo, and Kuyt without energy is average at best.  Suffering some kind of world cup hangover perhaps.

I can't belivee either that Torres isn't wrestling to get the ball for pens, albeit Kuyt took it nicely, but how many has Gerrard missed?  I can remember at least 6

Torres used to take them for Athletico and missed a few.  Has Kuyt missed (m)any?  Kuyt always takes them when Gerrard isn't there.  Also, when Gerrard isn't there we have Mereiles or Aurelio (when he isn't broken) to take corners - and they're far better than Gerrard's efforts.  Gerrard should leave the corner-taking to others and instead linger just outside the box (Scholes-stylee) and I'm sure he'd do far more damage that way.

Kuyt has never missed a Liverpool pen I am pretty sure.

Gerrard is also very good in the air.

His lack of energy is probably due to playing in a crap side and having to chase the game all the time.  He usually has the stamina for the full 90mins+, but recently he's been blowing after 70mins.

There's no one who is beyond criticism at Liverpool.  They all have bad days, but when someone who gets very little credit overall has a decent game and people criticise him, I'll defend them.

aww Kin! I know this was towards me x x x

Its a marmite thing I guess, and you love marmite.

Quite like marmite actually.

Not just you bashing Kuyt - lots of Liverpool fans won't ever give him any credit.  Such a similar player to Ray Houghton (although Kuyt is better in front of goal), the main difference being that Houghton was in a much better side.

He really is massively underrated at Liverpool, top class player.

Boldielocks I honestly didnt think you were a fan of his, I kinda remem you talking about the Dutch team/squad pre world cup I got the impression you didnt think much of him.

My memory is hazy though.

TBH, I didn't think much of the Dutch defensive line-up (inc the goalie) going forward we always looked good. Though admittedly I am not a big van of V Persie playing up front by himself. VD Vaart on the wing was also wasted IMO. And I sure as hell never thought we'd make it to the final as I didn't think we'd be good enough. (Lack of effort from some players going forward was a major part as well for me, sometimes they just look like they can't be bothered (V Persie is bad for this)

Kuyt is the type of player every team could do with. Sure there are players with much better skills. There are players who are faster than he is. But he always puts in 100% and has decent skill and decent pace. And he picks up the occasional goal, I'd settle for that at PSV every day of the week.

In a good side (LFC 08/09) Kuyt offered 12 goals and 12/13 assists I think? One less than Lampard in a similar number of minutes with only two pens (to Lampard's 5 or 6 I think). This was in the top 3 for midfielders in all of Europe in major leagues that season, so I cant accept the argument that he's not capable.

Kuyt didnt get the votes!

Fernando Torres was Liverpool's star man during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Everton, according to fans who voted in our online poll.

The Spanish striker tallied 29 per cent of your vote after an impressive display against the Blues.

Raul Meireles came second with 20 per cent, while Martin Kelly clinched third after collecting 16 per cent.

Kelly did, however, scoop the Liverpoolfc.tv journalists' man of the match award after another assured performance at right-back.

Probably the same idiots who are on their forums too and call in to 606.

Liverpool's MOTM was either Kelly or Kuyt by a country mile (imo).  Torres was far better than he has been, and hope he keeps on working his way back towards his best under Dalglish. Mereiles 2nd?  Really?  Yes, scored a lovely goal, but really?

Babel as part of the Suarez deal would surely be the best bit of news since Henry took over?

Would be a cracking deal. However Ajax is skint so offering Babel a decent pay packet will be difficult for them.
