At least Carroll will bring passion and aggression to the club which has been badly lacking this season. Swapping sulky stroppy Torres for some big maniac caveman charging around getting stuck in will be good for the team. No international or european means it's a big gamble and well over the odds but could work out.

Spurs bid £35 million for Rossi, I'd take Carroll over Rossi any day.

If it's any help, the first player I bought on Football Manager 2011 was Eden Hazard for Liverpool.

We've never looked back.

I'm pretty gutted about Alonso leaving Sad

Are liverpool fans more gutted about Alonso leaving or Torres?

Def Alonso. When he left he was playing awesome. Torres is no real loss based on the last 9 months of his play.

Alonso didn't 'jump ship' and didn't move to another English club after saying it's something he'd never do.  That's what makes Torres' departure gutting (for me anyway).  I loved both Torres and Alonso, and thought they were both excellent.  Alonso still comes back over to Liverpool and goes to Anfield to watch games, when he isn't playing obviously.  I can't imagine Torres doing that - or being welcomed back.

Bloody good job he is!  N'gog up front on his own wouldn't fill me with confidence!  It's a shame Carroll is out, this sort of game would suit him - a tough, physical battle at the Britannia on a cold, wet Wednesday night.  We'll see how Suarez takes to it Cheesy

I thought we were at home!  Then saw it advertised on a list of fixtures last night on Sky - and Stoke were the first team mentioned, so assumed they were the home side.

That's OK then Cheesy

Welcome to Anfield Luis - have fun!

Suarez only 6-5 to score anytime tonight (BET365, odds on in quite a few places)..shame was hoping he'd be bigger. Fancy him on his first appearance TBH. He'll do well for you.
