I reckon Gerrard could definitely do a job in defence.  Especially if it meant Cissokho doesn't play.

Anyone on blonde could do a better job then Cissokho.

Pretty sure I couldn't, and Tikay would probably only do an equivalent job.

If you sat on the floor at the side of the pitch you'd be doing a better job.

Not really sure how it's turned into a Gerrard is past it type convo.

Gerrard as a DM? No. Gerrard in a 4-4-2? No. Gerrard done as a midfielder? Let's not be silly. As I said before, prior to injury he was immense this season. Bad games I cant even fill a hand on. He's really being judged by some fans on the 3/4 games since his return (where he's been awful) but that really is a very short memory.

Oh, I don't think he's completely past it yet - even if he is past his supreme best.  But he doesn't appear suited, and the team doesn't appear to be suited, to him playing the DM role.

I think that's the biggest problem. He gets an auto-spot in the team because he's captain and second only to Robbie Fowler in premier league Liverpool terms. But he's not good enough to play in what was his position now and the team doesn't need his style of play in the DM role.

He's still England captain though Roll Eyes

I think it's more that we have no one else and he's been better than everyone else. Those we do have haven't done it. He's notched up 6 assists this season when alongside other CMs who'll do the donkey work for him. He has a place fo sho. Unfortunately for him it's either alongside two great engines or in the attacking third where Coutinho is the future.

Saleh to Chelsea.Looks like no signings then.

re Johnson...

"Glen has played a lot of the season and has had a number of injuries and he has struggled and it has not allowed him to be 100 per cent," Rodgers said.
"It is an indefinite timeline he will be out."

All I can find for the Dunkin' deal is "multi-million".  No idea about the Vauxhall deal, but doesn't that just replace and extend slightly the deal already in place with GM, but was previously for the Chevrolet brand (that they'll no longer sell in the UK after 2015)?

The vauxhall replaces chevret, who are going to be the shirt sponsers for man utd from next season

The Liverpool team: Jones, Cissokho, Kelly, Toure, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Moses, Suarez, Sturridge.

Substitutes: Mignolet, Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Ibe, Flanagan, Sama.

Stong line up

expected Aspas and Alberto to start
