Would be interesting to see the net spend @ Spurs, City and Villa for the last 5.5 seasons. Maybe then fans would start to accept that winning a league title with Liverpool with what Rafa has spent is not a given, just as it isn't at those other clubs.
You're obviously way too Rafa biased to have an objective view. From my point of view, and I'm a United fan I hope Liverpool don't sack Rafa. You will NEVER win the league with him as your manager. You might fluke another cup tho
How is expecting less than other Liverpool fans due ot our resources not being objective? I am not talking about who the manager is - it wouldn't matter who the manager is for me to make my point.
So you've actually been over achieveing all these years? Right.

His interview today was cringeworthy.
I know he is under immense pressure but acting like that and making himself and the club a laughing stock in doing so is not going to help.

he is def on his way when spurs trounce you next week
but im with george - def want him to stay - he won the Champs League with Houliers team and has since destroyed anything they had.
That team sheet a few pages back is a joke, and any true red will look at it and die a little inside.
1 player playing for the badge (stevie) - 10 playing for the cash! - Football teams dont work like that - you have to want to play for the badge to compete at the highest level

Complete and utter one eyed rubbish guy
look -its easy to play well when you are winning
when you are losing - you need that inspiration, that desire - something to get you going - i have seen the highlights of the last few liverpool games and listenend to radio 5 today. EVEN GREEENY was slating the l'pool players saying they had nothing.
You watch any team when the chips are down - its those that believe in the club who try the hardest - look at berba for utd - he couldnt give a fk - rooney would die for the cause

An email that was sent in to the Guardian's Fiver mailout yesterday.
Quote
"To every Liverpool fan I grew up with, even though I grew up in the East ruddy Midlands; to every Liverpool fan I met at university, even though you'd just come from Lowestoft, or somesuch place; to every Liverpool fan commuting in from some hole like Hatfield to your job in London: this is what it's like to support a team.
Rubbish players, rubbish manager, stupid board, no cups. It's not novel, it's not interesting, the rest of us know all about it.
Get over it or, alternatively, find out who's winning everything, and go and support them. That's how you chose your current team in 1980 after all, isn't it?"
Come support QPR instead - never again will you have to put up with a manager who stays in his job too long.

Guy I challenge you to name half a dozen Prem players who "play for the badge" ... Football just isn't made up of men like that these days.

We paid £400k for Hobbs, and he's been a bargain btw.
All the debate on will he get sacked or not is a bit academic really. With a new-ish 5 year contract and a payoff due of £30m? is this correct?, board turmoil and a stadium upcoming I think the likelihood of him being sacked unless they really really have to is remote.
Yeah it's not completely accurate it doesn't include loan fees etc either but it's ball park correct.
I hear it's more like £12m but in our current financial situation that is no different to £30m.

If our club had the exact same finances, manager and situation but was called another name then no one would think we'd underachieved at all.

Precisely - the mistake Liverpool made was putting Bill Shankly in charge. If they hadn't have done that, Liverpool fans would have been like Everton fans - happy with 6th.
