It said on Sky on Sunday that new rules that are soon to come in mean you can only spend £33 million over 3 years ? I maybe wrong on whether it was actual spend or to make a loss but it was definitely £33 mil over 3 years which seems crazy compared to the current ways but it may well be a good thing.
Arsenal seem to be the best run club in this country in so many ways, but they never win out.

This was a monstrous business transaction. "promising to do things" is not a measure in business. You can legally ensure and enforce actions when the transaction is this big. THAT is what should have occurred re the ground, if that was the main focus of any sale.
The moores saying "they cant complete" - nonsense. - Just an excuse - are you competing now? Money is not the be all and end all in football. You had a club with a great fan base that was financially secure.
Please dont think that when the club was sold (especially in light of the Glazers), the the Board did not know the risks. They took the steps, understanding those risks, and have lost out. Thats the gamble.
In terms of greed from both sides, it doesnt need to be monetary. The club/fans sold out to H&G, and now they are suffering. Do you believe if your players had performed, if you had won something, that there would be this hoo-ha!
I am not suggesting that H&G havent reneged on promises, they have. But LFC is a business, and big businesses dont run on promises.
And please dont believe that anyone buying LFC from another country is in it for the love of the game! Especially if you sell to the Boston Red Sox. When the Americans came charging into the Premiership, it was because TV rights was the big issue, Club TV etc etc. It hasnt yet worked out, they are all probably a little sour about it. The financial world has changed since your owners bought the club, that again was a risk. Liverpool risked alot and have lost out in most quarters. Unlucky. But please dont think that all this is down to H&G.

You talk about 'the board' at Liverpool before G&H came in. Do you know anything about the club then, who was on the board and why they were selling?

Truth? Nah, just can't be bothered discussing something with someone who isn't interested in the facts. Maybe someone else will.

Since Glazer MUFC have won the league three times, The European Cup and The Carling Cup twice -- yet still the Love United hate Glazer campaign moves on...
Liverpool fans have the same (or arguably deeper) sense of tradition - you may be on weak ground there.

Broughton certainly seems to making all the right noises, and seems to have carried out a considerable amount of due diligence on this deal - I guess that's what's been going on behind the scenes (as it should) rather than in the glare of the media. I also like his comments towards the end of the interview where he talks about the articles that have been written into this contract that means only he can change the board, which means G&H have royally shafted themselves on that one!

hmmm,,,daily mesh thing a bit OTT..and all the jokes have been done before really.
Can anyone explain to me how this works BTW?
How can H&G have signed a contract/a clause agreeing that they won't have a say in the club if they own it?
Surely I don't tell my neighbour it's OK for him to sell my house if he thinks he can get a good deal for it?

It's pretty brilliant isn't it? (The situation with Broughton, not the dailymash thing - which was pretty average for them).
Broughton was brought in to facilitate the sale of the club. His mandate was to find a buyer who is primarily in the best interests of the club, and secondly will give G&H the most return on their investment. As the deadline (for RBS to call in the debt) is approaching, and no buyer has come forward that meets both criteria, he has to go with one that meets the first one.
The fact that Broughton demanded the clauses he did, and G&H agreed to them really is remarkable. G&H can't oppose a legitimate sale (although that's what they seem to be trying to do) and they can't change the board, only Broughton can do that (but G&H seem to be trying to do that as well).
From G&H's side though, what else are they going to get from it? If the sale doesn't go through due to their legal actions, it's going to end up in the hands of RBS - and they still get nothing. Not sure what they're trying to achieve.
I'm sure someone with a greater understanding of corporate workings will be able to explain it in more detail, and probably correct me on some of my understanding of the situation.

That Broughton is one clever chappy...saw a great interview with him on Skysports yesterday. He doesn't seem to be nobody's fool and I reckon he shafted H&G enough for the sale to actually go through.

Yes, the majority of Liverpool fans I've spoken to were very sceptical about him, and with the lack of any communication over the past weeks many were questioning his motives and what he was actually doing. Was he a puppet for G&H, or was he going to actually do what he said he would? During the 'silence' we'd all been hoping that he was working behind the scenes and coming up with the deal that he has managed to broker - but were worried that it was unfounded optimism.
It looks like he's come up trumps. Of course, whether the deal is as good for Liverpool as it sounds won't be known until the sale properly goes through and we see what actually happens. Will there be money to buy players (without having to sell first), and will they invest in the stadium. NESV haven't committed to a new stadium, but have committed to giving LFC a stadium that holds at least 60,000. I can't see how Anfield can be expanded, both the space in and around the ground prevents this (although I'm no architect, so maybe there's something clever they can do), and I'm sure the sensible solution is Stanley Park. I'd rather they didn't make promises that they later renege on - as G&H did, and the noises they're making seem to be the right ones. So still sceptical, but hopeful. That's pretty much the feeling amongst most Liverpool fans.
