I have no idea what Benitez has to do with hillsborough. Maybe an image of current Liverpool manager King Kenny who was also manager on the day itself would have been a more considered option.

I don't get the "get a job Rafa" bit. It's near the end of the season, he has to wait to see what the big clubs plan for next season before even being in the frame. He's had 2 nice pay offs in 12 months so hardly think he's in a rush. Don't think he's claiming JSA so leave him to look after his career. While you might see the Barnet job as a step in the right direction career wise I don't think Rafa does. Atletico Madrid could be a possibility though as could Chelsea and Man City.

What's the problem? An important guy from our recent history is upset by the memorial. Pretty standard picture tbh. Kin posted it because it matters to us. Stop being a hater. What matters is the people who died not whether Rafa had a tear in his eye. I think it's an ill-conceived image to post considering all the more pertinent images one could post and I expressed that opinion. It is clearly propaganda because only a supporter of the guy would choose to post it. So I'm afraid it's not only a disgusting accusation it is also a disgusting fact, how frightful.

I read a post by our friend the tank the other day suggesting people were trying to take ownership of threads these days with the many diaries on the forum. That threads were becoming private like a closed book. I think that is clearly evident in this thread. Liverpool FC and Hillsborough matter to a lot of different people for a lot of different reasons. Such a joke that people with a LFC avatar think they can take ownership of the disaster and speak on behalf of all fans. Or trying to take ownership of this thread at the expense of other members.

In all seriousness I only want Rafa to get a job so he can move on with his life and stop hanging around Liverpool. It can't be good for him to keep living in the past.

I think you're forgetting this is a poker forum Baron. Lots of people who view this thread wont have the intimate knowledge of the club you do. This is not the Liverpool forums. I think your dramatic opinions about what you know about Liverpool and how the fans feel would probably be more at home on those forums. The first past of this is correct. What you have again missed is that even the ones who are not pro-Benitez respect the man and his passion for the Justice for the 96 campaign. This is a hugely vast majority.

Baron is absolutely right. I mean I did try to worm out of it but he was shrewd enough to quote the offending posts and capture my humiliation for all to see. So sadly it is true and it has duely been exposed that I was insensitive to kinboshi and his emotional needs on what must have been a very testing day for him. Baron's harsh words have made me see the error of my ways though. I mean how stupid to make a joke or give a rub down on such a day. All people should remain serious throughout that day of all the days. But sadly I didn't do that. To give kin a rub about ex-manager Rafa Benitez was unforgivable and my actions were akin to dancing on the graves of the victims. Like Baron says it was grossly insulting, a disgusting and embarrassing accusation, and showed me up for what I am. I confess I did originally laugh at the Benitez picture but now all I see is pain. The person I really feel sorry for is kin. I wonder what he must be going through after being insulted so gravely? I hope he can find the courage to post in this thread again.

As a neutral it would seem to me Rafa still deeply cares about the club still and the 96. He has given time, money and emotional support to the whole thing. Seems rather harsh to think he is doing it for any other reason than a genuine one, in fact its frankly absurd. I think its great he is there, says alot about the man.

I absolutely agree with everybody. It was a very low and unthinkable thing to do. I thought Kin posted the picture of Rafa because he is a Rafa supporter and wanted to show how emotionally attached to the club Benitez is. But no it wasn't about raising Rafa's profile at all. It was just a random picture chosen as a tribute to the victims. I know that now. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate for me to post a tearful image of Gerrard Houllier or Graeme Souness as my own tribute rather than post the hurtful things I did. I don't know what to say other than I am sorry Kin. As Baron says, my Rafa rub was grossly insulting and a disgusting and embarrassing accusation. I think what I did was equal to denying the holocaust as those descriptions would fit equally well. Thankfully Baron was on the ball and managed to trap me and expose me for what I am. I am just an insensitive brute who hates Rafa with all my energy and I don't know why.

I know that I ruined Kin's birthday with my hurtful and disgusting remarks and only hope that in time he can recover from the bruising he took that day. Pls forgive me kin. I think it was posted more because the families of the '96 disaster openly gave their thanks to Rafa Benitez personally, which you may view at your leisure in the video posted.

All joking aside, there's no need to repeatedly troll the thread because you dislike the man. That's fine, and all, but I don't know why you feel the need to constantly stir the pot with the fact. As a Liverpool fan, there were high and low points under him as a manager. Yet not for one second would I take away from him his generous spirit and emotional attachment to the club.
