Nobody?
Really?!
Liverpool don't need any strikers but have signed an established name (notwithstanding they spent £35m on a lump up front a few years ago).
Is Ancelotti's "la decima" present being giftwrapped?
Makes quite a lot of sense when I think about it. He's a plan B. He's cheap - a quarter the price of Bony who won't be happy with bench duty. He's a huge red. Aspas and Borini are likely to move on. £4m looks fine even at 32.

I don't think it's a bad deal, when you consider that it's hard to sign a premium striker who is going to be happy with being on the bench quite often.
I also don't think it's scummy. I doubt Liverpool said l, "We will do it this way because we don't want you to pay anything to Bournemouth."
Most likely the other way around.

He's definitely not a replacement for Suarez.

Surely preparation for life without our star player would be to sign loads of midfielders and forwards who can then spectacularly underperform?

Been talk about Remy and a whole load of other 'stand in'forwards, but Lambert probably fits the bill the best, and always gives us a plan b. If it does happen, does he take over from Gerrard on penalties?
It’s a really good deal for Liverpool and the player, not such a good one for Saints. He will be a really good impact sub for you in what is going to be a very busy season. Absolutely loves the club and will give everything given the chance. I am made up for him – he will always be a legend given what he has done for the club.. must be one of the best ever £1million pound signings. He has always said he wanted to finish his career at Saints – an opportunity for Liverpool would be the only way that was ever not going to be the case. Lallana and Lambert are the two players who keep me coming back to Saint Mary’s time after time as they are both such a joy to watch. Gut wrenching seeing my heroes leave :-( It’s a pretty bad deal for Saints – it’s probably about what he is worth but leaves us with one striker and means it’s just another position that needs to be filled over the Summer in a squad that is going to have a fair few replacements to find. If he is on the pitch then he MUST be on penalties, no question.

He's never missed a penalty during his professional career - is that correct?
Yeah, it's not a good situation at all for Southampton. You've had a very good season, and now the club is being plundered for its prize assets. Manager gone, star players next. I think Liverpool will pay a little over the odds for the combination of Lallana/Lambert/Lovren - but Saints are right to hold out to get as much as possible for them. With Spurs and other clubs interested, then that might provide a price hike as well.
From wikipedia:
"Since joining Southampton Lambert has built up a reputation as a specialist from 12 yards. He has converted his last 34 penalties and has not missed from the spot since moving to Southampton in 2009, a record that is rivaled by few in the footballing world"
