Meant to post this earlier in the week from APAT in Dublin, it was truly the most bizarre play I have every seen. Anyway talk about the mug play if you want, but what happens to the blinds in the this situation.

We have just lost a player from the table, resulting in a dead small blind. At the moment, the big blind is away from the table (Actually our very own Ginger). The table folds round to the button. WHO FOLDS and mucks his cards!!!!

What should happen here ?

I would presume the BB just gets their blind back and the next hand gets dealt?

the button should get up from the table, give up poker and join a crime fighting gang that solves mysteries and does kung-fu

nope, thats not what happened.

In the end, the guy on the button wom the hand, after the dealer got a ruling from the cardroom manager (Richie).

His reasoning was, that the buttons hand was the last hand that was active - he was the last player who had active cards (the BB cards were dead as soon as they were dealt out, since she was not at the table), so therefore he wins by default.

made sense to me when I thought about it.

Yep,

Shouldn't the cards of any away people be mucked at the start of each hand as soon as the deal happens rather than in turn?

Thats right, BB hand gets mucked as soon as all cards are dealt. Button wins the hand.

Yep pretty standard, the button can't pass as the hand is over as soon as the action got to him. Pretty lame play from the C/O though!

Thanks Laz I was trying to get away with that one!!

I did think that the guy in 1st pos was actually in the pot (honest) plus wasn't too keen on playing with that guy with sod all as i couldn't figure out whether he was a crackpot or a bit fly (mind you that kind of made up my mind). I did think he was small blind but didn't look too closely   (I was seat 10 he was in one).

After all that Still agree with flushy and said so as soon as i realised what had happened, very lame from me and prob due a bit to lack of live experience not fully concentrating, or the fact i'm pisch.
