Well just woke up, and looked at my phone and had a few missed calls from mick. I wasn't liking this coz generally when I have missed calls from him it means one of the dogs are injured!
Rodney was due to go round the schooling track this morning too so that worried me. Anyway I phoned him back and he tells me that it was to let me know how Rodney did. He done a 15.38, much improvement on last weeks 16.18 and even beat his best previous time round there of 15.50 odd (a few pages back on this thread). He got fed through the boxes 5 times, and given a short hare and had no problems getting out this time!
Great news. He will have one more week round schooling track, so he can have a long hare which is what he would get at the track. Lets hope he continues to improve and stays facing forward!!

Dear God (or any alternative false idol)
Please dont let it snow/rain in Oxford overnight or Monday morning, please let Cassie have a trouble free run and come off sound having run a qualifying time.
Thanks.

Try it with Trebor. One way it's cool and minty the other way it's just cool.

Shit morning, sigh. Arrived to see she was in the 3 box, with a dog in 1 and 5. Pissed off from the start at this as she sticks to the rails like glue. No reason she shouldn't be drawn in 1. She doesn't break her greatest and at the first bend the supposedly railer in 1 moves off and causes her to check! She runs down the far side and tries to get inside the 1 and it seems like the 1 just has eyes for her as now he is running right alongside her with the 5 dog infront. They go round the last bend and she has to check up again because of the 1 dog and she then gets going again and manages to come 2nd by 3/4 of a length. Was obvious with the trouble though that she hadn't done fast enough, her time works out to be 28.37. Sigh, going was about normal I would think. Pisses me off that she is drawn in 3 though with the 1 dog moving off!

next week hopefully but ben hasn't spoke to mick yet.
cant go on indefinatly trialling and at some point a decision will have to be made.
hopefully she will get a chance at some point and can start racing, she is never gona be better than a low to middle grader but at least we can have some fun with her she is such a lovely bitch with a fantastic attitude and as recently said on this thread it isnt so important for her to be an open racer.
rodneys another matter, there was plenty to like about his trial at the schooling track last sunday. if he manages to go alright sunday off a longer hare and goes even quicker then we could be onto something. hes always been a big baby lets hope hes now learning the game and can trial the following week at oxford.
i remember the runs we used to give them up the park 6 months or so ago and remember rodney giving cassie a start and a beating regularly so hopefully he wont have the same problems grading cassie has had.
heres hoping anyway

What does that mean? Could she in effect 'fail' at trialling and that would be the end of her chances of making it?
