The wallet analogy is a nonsense one... it is nothing like this situation.

At the end of the day, the reluctant player got a right result in getting any sort of deal ... And if he had got dealt aces and the other bloke kings and they limped in and hit a flop of AAK would he have checked it down and carried on pleading ...

Plus ... what would happen if the other guy had a chat ban or didnt use chat ?

He sat at the table of his own free will and got his arse singed .. he was damn lucky he didnt get it burnt beyond recognition.

I am with Kev on this one if it was a matter of stupidity or any other scenario then they have to go with it

this guy says he has only 800 to give out in the account and it is his account , then he is either lying or someone is chip dumping or he is in big chit with big people hehe

The way i see it is if you register for a game you have to click more than 1 button so you have to go with your actions
If it was myself playing him and he begged to get out of the game i would of said

"They all do mate" LOL

I guess I know who the "quick clickers" are on this site when I get a disconnect lol.

Being a human being before a poker player I would have took my fees back.
I want to win and can be a bad loser sometimes as losing can really hurt my ego, but not at all costs.

Not fair!

If someone is d/c, it is connection or something beyond his control and I would always wait, I have done in the past and will do so, Red_Dog is the master at this, I have seen him HU in a big comp doing such and I think its the right thing to do.

Maybe its Karma and why I get unlucky so often.  But I'd be a total scumbag, I'd have insisted in playing the game out.

Similarly if it was a tournament and guy was heads up and disconnected i'd be raising every hand Smiley

Just went to register in a HU game on stars, and I got the $5000 HU lobby appear, this does happen a lot on stars...normally when you are trying to catch the last seat in a SNG and you get some empty obscure lobby instead and miss it.

Lol if someone else disconnects when you are playing HU you sit out?

Ok lets wait 10 minutes for them to come back so we can play 200/400 blinds

I think I'm generally a nice guy but disconnects in HU games usually get no mercy. It's rape and pillage time. 99.9999% of people will do this to you. It's just the way poker is and I expect people to be raising the crap out of my blinds if I disconnect. Part of good online poker strategy is to have a stable connection and set up.

If my connection>their connection, I have outplayed them. GG WP.

There are some people who I play regularly enough to know that we would wait for each other but these are the exception.

I think though if I were faced with the situation this guy was in, ie facing an opponent obviously not pulling a scam but who has misclicked, I'd probably give him his money back, less a small fee for wasting my time, maybe rake + 5% or something.

Having said that the guy does not deserve any special treatment, he made a silly error and learnt a lesson he is unlikely to forget. He has no one to blame but himself.

the thing is, its only apparent now that we have seen it, now that weve seen him accept the deal, and seen his chat post deal, and seen that he was genuine... so its being slightly results orientated. If the low roller sat out and then <insert scummy activity here>  and won everyone would be telling the "pro" how much of an idiot he was for trying to do someone a favour.

I'd guesstimate that he woulda been a  3 to 1 dog if it got played out, having chosen that the best strategy was a tight/scared shitless stlye-e while he was busy waiting for support.

I would say that he is lucky to get 4k back and should stop bitchin.
Particulary the part where he lost the final pot which his opponent was kind enough to offer to check down, rather than just raising for 150 free chips.

I wouldn't condem this player for taking the guy's money here. he didn't break the rules, all he did was take advantage of a mistake.

Having said that, there is no way I could have done it. I couldn't bring myself to take money from someone who had obviously made a mistake and didn't want to play.

I was playing heads up on the old tribecca network, a player got disconnected and i proceeded in raising every hand, the guy then came on to the chat box and said "im here but i cant play a hand please stop playing".  It was pretty bad he was getting really upset as i kept going, now was this the right thing to do should i have given him chance to come back...maybe but i checked my notes when he first begged me to stop and it had the usual stuff about his play then said total c*** gave me rubdown when cracked my AA.

My WP GG at the end i admit was harsh...
