I heard a rumour last week that certain players were being given seats in the GUKPT legs as "online qualifiers" when they hadn't actually qualified online at all, leading to one "online qualifier" being totally non-plussed when asked how it felt to be the only online qualifier in the final !

Anyone else hear this ?

I don't believe a word of it mind you, surely this sort of thing doesn't go on............does it ?

As I said only a rumour.

how do you know it has happened on the Gala GBPT?

Do you know for sure or are you guessing?

would be dissapointed if its true, tried to register for nottingham and was told there was 10 places left and they were all reserved for internet qualifiers.

At the Gala Nottngham leg, a few spaces were reserved for "celebs" at the behest of the "Presentable" TV peeps. I think a fella who starred in "The Bill" played.

In the Grosvenor GUKPT jobbies, it don't matter who you are, £1,050 secures your seat if not sold out, or you can quallify Online. There are no concessions to "celebs" there.

It was also possible to acquire a seat when the event was sold out for a 5% "consideration".

Well I did hear a rumour to that effect, but no idea if it was true.

What I do know was that they ran a series of Live Super Sats which were making about 8 or 9 seats each - but they were only prepared to give 5 seats, with the other 3 or 4 given in cash! Bizarre, to say the least. So you could win a Seat, but not be able to play the Event!

oh right,
so for a £25 bribe they would have made a seat available, hardly seems worth it.

Please be careful here. It was NOT suggested, nor is it true, that Gala would accept such "consideration". They would not.
