Sounds like a fun job, but the salary is rubbish for the right candidate...unless they're desperate for a new car.  Pity.

WOW

Well I must admit I did not expect this response. As a salesperson I would hope that the salary would not be the income you would expect, the commision should make it a decent wage, but then I wonder what is viewed as a decent wage? As for holidays I have never had a problem with this as a starting set of days and to be honest I will look at changing it if it appears unfair. I want people who can see the benefits and grow what is still a new idea and if this expands and the responsibility of the role grows then I will review the salary.

Hi Rivercard, do you have any more information about the 'Poker in the pub' in general? Website etc, just out of curiosity... Didnt someone on Dragons Den have an idea similar to this?

OTE £20,000

Huh?

We're not having a go, it's just that good performing salepeople almost certainly have higher On Target Earnings than 20K, that's all. Where I used to work if a salesdude was earning 20K he got the sack. I'm sure you'll find someone, whether they are any good or not............

Sales salaries are funny things.  They are related to the difficulty of selling the product either because it is very expensive e.g. an IT system and a lot of knowledge and negotiotion is necessary or it requires a lot of calls for one sale e.g. life assurance.  Alternatively the product might be easy to sell but low margin, so there really isn't any requirement for high powered sales technique.  I suspect that this job is the easy to sell but low margin kind, so someone reasonably personable without a great deal of sales experience would probably think this was an ok job and do well in it.

Just shows the way things have degenerated around here, the guy is advertising a job, if someone is interested then they can apply.
Otherwise why have a pop??
