Moral dilemma
«

I just played a $1000 heads up on Stars.
The guy was sitting out as the game began... i used up 45 seconds of my time bank waiting for him and he didn't show up.
So I started anteing him away with every intention of sending his $1000 back (less my juice... don't think I should penalised for him not showing up).
I had taken about 700 of his starting stack when he finally sat in. I asked him what the problem was and he didn't respond... and then he started moving allin every hand.
On the 5th hand I picked up AQ and called. He had K5 and amazingly my hand stood up.
Now I'm in a conundrum.
Morally what is the correct course of action?
I don't think I need to send the entire $1000 as although he was moving in every hand I had a big edge but he could still clearly win.
Should I send the proportoin of his money reflected by 700 chips? (About $450)
Or should I keep the lot?

He had his chance when you spoke to him and he didn't reply. I'd happily take the money and look at it as a bonus. If it were the other way around, you'd have lost $1000.

Toughish one,,,,, You asked him what the problem was, he never replied and moved all in. He could of give you a reasonable answer and then you would of give him the dosh back...
Instead he has tried ot get back in it and then who knows, he may of won, and you would be down...
So on the whole, I would keep the dosh.

He sat in and then made no attempt to even say hello. He then went all-in with K5.
It would be cruel to the $1000 to make it live in his account - you won it, you keep it.

He had his chat off or ignored you and then went for it!
It could have been his own patented method gameplay for the foolish, who knows with some people?
On balance, bank it.

Keith the fact he started moving in said he was still trying to win the game. If he had stayed sat out then yes a refund is in order. I have heard of players doing this as a "free" shot because if they lose they complain to site and anyone who will listen how this guy bent them over. At the big stakes some of the players also have big hearts and will send money back. If his K5 had won and he beat you do you think he would have sent you anything?

Ariston posted and made the point I was going to make before I could. If he'd won that hand and then gone on to win - you wouldn't have seen any of the money.

If you do send him his dough back expect to be seeing me a lot in those heads up keith. I will blind away to maybe a 1000 then push every hand till its over. If you are gonna refund me pro rata for my chips i've only got a downside of $333 but an upside of 1000- a shot I'm willing to take.

Absolutely agree 100% with this. If you had an agreed deal with PS support to verify ok and well played for being so magnamious, but anything else is opening yourself up to all sorts of angleshooting.

i agree.
The very fact you are even asking shows you are a good honourable person, he would probably not ever consider sending some cash back. Keep it all.

Decided to give half to charity, and keep the rest and buy lots of pies.
