Dubai has just pushed John Duthie off a pot with an 11k Turn bet, the board reading .

As a result, Dubai is now back up to 30-35k.

Paul Jackson (pictured here trying to out-dour Juha Helppi) just got paid on the river like so:
Small blind Paul had called preflop, as had Juha.  The flop was checked to the raiser, who declined to bet, but bet the turn.  Paul flat called but then quickly bet out the river for 3,400.  His opponent took a long time before calling, and being shown the for the straight (which won).

Gavin Simms is OUT.

He had a pair of Kings, but ran into top two and failed to improve.

Roy The Boy Brindley, in such a tense looking chair-crouch that he looks like he's about to launch himself over the table at Seat 1.  He did say in the hall on the way down here this morning that this was the event he looked forward to all year, though, "The real Main Event."  As far as I can see there are at least three contenders for this title.

Actually I take back what I sad about his odd posture - it appears that he's managed to lose his glasses and can't see the flop.  But he's finally found a waiter to get him a drink.

Here are neighbours Joe Beevers (I think his shirt reads: 'Amazing J Jeans' which is quite good, I might get me one of them) and Michael Greco.  Michael Greco doesn't look to have got over 25k at any point yet, but he's still playing patiently.

An announcement was made in the Amazon Room during this last level - that there were 314 entries, "With 314 rebuys...36 places will be paid, with 36th place being $22,137, first prize $768,889, and everything else in between."

Some wiseguy on the table behind me shouted out, "What place does the Rio come, 3rd or 4th?"   Roll Eyes

Dave Callaghan has doubled up, but it was a close one, Thomas Whalroos the man to push him to the limit.

With just 5.5k in chips and facing a board of , Dave bets 2.5k only for The Eggman to put him for his remaining 3k.

EggMan =

Callaghan =

Turn =

River =

This leaves Wahlroos with 29,900.

Meanwhile, on another able, another Irishman (although Northern) is Marty Smith, currently struggling with 15,500 but still well in touch.

We're going Irish crazy here, Adrian Walsh surviving an all-in after his 7.3k push on a Two Clubs board went uncontested.

Also located on this table are Huck Seed and Andy Black, the latter sitting with 27,500.

When you're reading from home, it's sometimes hard to get a grasp of what sort of mood the players are in, or how they're looking. So, with that in mid, here are a few quick one word observations:

Henning Granstad = bored
Fabrice Soulier = tired
Michael Binger = focused
Joe Hachem = confident
Noah Boeken = colourful
Todd Brunson = big
Barry Greenstein = depressed
Phil Hellmuth = stressed
Hoyt Corkins = studious
Chris Ferguson = holy
David Grey = insane
Humberto Brenes = childlike
Patrik Antonius = godlike
Juha Helppi = unimpressed
Mickey Appleman = hersute
