Gotta go, but before I do.....

Lord Raab called me this morning on an unrelated matter, & during the course of the 'phone call it became evident he was on a Train. I enquired - as you do - & he explained he was Paris-Bound, on Eurostar, for the Europeran Poker Awards.

So here's wishing him, & fellow UK Nominees Rob Yong, & Simon Trumper, good luck.

Rob was umming & arring as to whether to even attend. I hope he does, he deserves some respect for what he's done at DTD, aided  by his Team, including Simon. AS to Raaby, well, his baby, the GUKPT, has grown into a thing of wonder.

Good Luck them.

"No, I did not make it to the National Football League, but I probably got more from that dream and not accomplishing it than I got from any of the ones that I did accomplish."

Who wrote that, & in what context?

An amazing story. The journey can be so fulfilling, the destination not always so.

Kid's dreams are priceless.

That quote was so good I went straight to www.play.com and ordered the book, ty for the tip YO!

These three have done more for us, the players, than anyone I can think of. Good luck!!

Do we have to refer to you as "your binkyness" from now on ?

PS Finished Mr Sievier's aotobiography today, a very interesting read indeed.

Brief & overdue congrats to......

Chili.

She's a bit down on her luck, & needs a result. She played a $5 rebuy on Star's on Saturday, 4,200+ runners, & finished 4th, for $2,000 $4,000. Rooks railed her from 800 in, which took all night. Well done both girls.

It was such a small detail, but thought I would pull you up on it.  Bless ya, you nearly listen when I talk to you!!

Never enough hours in the day to do everything.

Did days used to be longer?

An afternoon of cruddy e-Mails, with one lovely one interspersed.

Tonight, at 7pm, it's my PTP shift, so I have just under an hour & then I start.

And tomorrow - Friday - I shall make TV History.

I'm doing the Friday Night Show - it's the big one, "Primo" - & I plan to introduce our audience to a new poker term - "bink". A world TV first, I suspect.

So, I've got just 24 hours to find out exactly what "bink" means.

I think it means "hit your card, esp a gutshot, or set". Yes, no? Guidance required, please.

Also, an over/under on....

How many minutes into the Show it will take me to mention "bink".

How many times I will say it.

Glad you enjoyed it Ralph. He was some character, eh?

But more so, what a horse Sceptre must have been to withstand such a gruelling training regime - 6 mile gallops every day, & so many races, over such varying distances! Ran in the 1,000 AND the 2,000 Guineas, the Oaks AND the Derby, the Lincoln & the Ceaserwitch. Extraordinary. Remember too that getting a horse to a distant meeting took some doing in those days, & she even went to Paris, by, I assume, Ferry & Road.

I have another book about Seivier & Sceptre, but a Biography, by John Welcome I think, rather than an Autobiography, & it paints a totally different picture of Mr Seivier - murderer, swindler, general rogue.

One of the most remarkable characters that ever graced (graced?) the Turf, but Sceptre must surely be the greatest Racemare that ever lived, bar none.

Yes Tony running third or fourth  in the Lincoln before winning BOTH of the Guineas followed by a defeat in the Derby after losing many lengths at the start for which Sievier was accused of "stopping" her and then winning the Oaks three days later and the the St. Leger to wrap up four of the five classics was some tally for her three-year-old season !

With respect, Vinni, that's incorrect kidzspeak.

We no longer say "he has, or needs, a club". We say "green".

8-9 is useless, 8-9 blue is a must call, do you see now?

Do keep up.

So tomorrow, we shall have J-T Blue, (Hearts) 5-6 yellow, (yellow is Diamonds I believe) etc.

That's what the kidz told me, see?
