TK Why is 865 a premium Channel, surely by making it free to all you will attract more customers or am I missing something here?
Hi Mr Dickie.
865 is not a Premium Channel.
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe if you can get Sky TV, you can get 865.

This is very true.

I never said Saturday was the 2nd best night - I said Thursday was the best night.
As to raining, & weather - well, believe it or not, (& this is all Online Rooms) the best nights Online for Revenue are when the weather is at it's worse. So, sunny weather, light nights, = bad.
Rain, or prolonged periods of snow, very good.
No Live Footy on telly = very good.
Why do you ask if I own a (Sky) Dish? I do, but I'm a bit curious as to why the question.

Sorry if this is a personal question, and i understand if you don't want to answer.
How much per annum roughly does it take to run the forum?
The Forum - almost nothing.
There are Server Hosting costs of around £250 per month, which Tighty paid out of his own pocket for about 12 months or so (& has yet to be repaid for). At - I think (Tighty will confirm or correct me, I'm not sure of the date) about the beginning of this year, I assumed - personally - the cost of Server Hosting, & I pay a Direct Debit for it every month. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I ever get that money back. It's cost me about £2,500 so far this year, & Tighty paid a good deal more.
The Site Running Costs come from other areas, not the Forum.
your server costs seem really high...i presume it is a dedicated server ?
if you want you can pm me the details. i might be able to help here. not looking for business, just looking to help...

I was just curious about the dish. I took it ( wrongly ) from your previous post that you didn't have one and was surprised. Now upon reflection i'm even more surprised that you do have one as you spend so much time working that you can't have a lot of spare time to slob out in front of the tv.

We (Tighty & I) discussed this with Joe Beevers recently, & he said the same thing - he reckons he pays half that, & has huge traffic (bandwidth?) compared to us.
I don't have the details to hand though - Bongo set it all up. I just pay the cost, sigh. Tighty may know, I'll ask both of them, & get back to you.
No idea if it's dedicated or not, but it's quite loyal.

Yes - the Sky Sports Simulcast stimulates a lot of traffic. Hence the Focussed Live Show nights.
All making sense now, yes?
And it's why all the Presenters & Analysts bust a gut to get the Thursday slot - it's the prime slot.

£200 per month, dedicated. Same as Mr Beevers pays, from memory.
We're a bit jinxed really, we were with Fast Hosts in Cheltenham. Then the floods in Gloucestershire affected our servers. So we changed.
No sooner had we changed than better deals came onto the market, I gather

I got my Sky Dish back in the days before it was Sky - remember those square dish ariels? - & I've had the full Sky Package ever siince - all the Films, & the fuill Sports Package. I kept them in readiness for when I retired, which would be 5 or 6 years ago now. Then things went badly wrong.....
I pretty much live in London these days, & have not watched TV in my house for some years now - at least 5 years. In fact, I doubt if I've watched more than 3 hours telly in the last 5 years.
I know, I'm bonkers for not sorting these things out.
