I enjoyed this teaser from a Hellmuth book some 5 or 6 years ago. It came - allegedly (though it matters not) - from a home game, where 6 guys were playing 4 card PLO.

The hands were......

Seat 1 -

Seat 2 -  three diamonds

Seat 3 -

Seat 4 -

Seat 5 -

Seat 6 -

The Flop came.......

So, literally, something for everyone.

After the  turn, the Board read.....

Top TWO Sets for Seat 4 then. And he thought that was a good card...........

Looks like a gin card for seat 1. Might be a slight fave here.

What it GUARANTEES is that Seat 4 - Top Two Sets, & the nuts (temp)  - now cannot win.

Just trying to figur out how he can win it on the flop? There's not many turns that help from what I can see.

  river???

Ps Player 6 has the case 10...

Oops, yes.

The  river gives it to Seat 5 I think.

In fact, the River was the  Two Diamonds

The case ten? - not sure what else helps.

case ten is in seat 6

Ran it through two dimes.

He's about 5% on the flop so there must be a turn that helps.

Is it true that horses love nutmeg?

As a general rule, horses love any type of fresh fruit, veg, nuts etc.

Some things, like chocolate, cherries, nutmeg, peppers, and the like can cause a nasty reaction.

Was surprised when I read it, which is why I asked.  Was googling mad and stumbled on this  http://www.thejoyofhorses.com/apr99/applebyfair.htm

Misdeal they have all been dealt 4 cards and poker is only played with 2 cards.

I heard they love peanut butter, my mum used to ride horses back in her hay day. She always said they loved it and that they used it in films, placed on their gums to make the horse look like it was talking lol

There are no more tens, I think the point of the hand is that the guy with the nuts on the turn cannot win..

That's a nice piece Dawn, but the author has had his leg pulled a little while doing his research.

I see he has written a book on Gypsies. "The Appleby Rai" You would think he would have used an upper case G when referring to us.
