It's pretty simple it means if you play and win you have to wear Sky poker stuff......
not really that simple is it? Who makes u? What if u wear it for one day then get offered a better deal? U get kicked outa the comp? If u refuse from the start u will be withdrawn? What if u have to wear a badge u wear it on a tshirt under your Stars hoodie or whatever?
I thought what tikay quoted said u couldn't wear another logo, not u had to wear a sky one? Doesn't seem simple to me at all
If you don't wear the Sky stuff then Tikay will not warm the pot before making your tea and won't iron your clothes properly when you're out there.
If you're being sponsored by Grosvenor then surely they're putting you in. If they're not, then you're not being sponsored, are you?

Who makes you?!? stupid question same with all these deals.
If you win the seat do you want to play??, if so doing as your told by the people in control of your flights/accom/buyin sounds like a basic thing to do.
If you get offered a better deal then sucks to be you, unless you can buyout your stuck with it.
I'm pretty sure you wont get checked what colour undies your wearing, esp considering those dont get on tv.
Surely as a sponsored player you're getting put into this donkament anyway?

Not really that simple, as I'm sure u know. If you're sponsored it doesn't mean u have a budget to play every tournament in the world for the whole year, but it does mean u have a contract not allowing u to represent someone else, by wearing their logo, otherwise your sponsorship would be jeopardy and probably withdrawn.
All I was really asking is to u
have
to do what the terms say, or are they a request. If you have to, is it enforced, and how, and that's what I don't understand. And if u have to, does wearing a badge under your other gear count.
I wasn't confused over whether I was sponsored by Grosvenor or not, I have the contract for that one whenever I forget.
Anyway not entered tikay as wasn't sure, will ask u in person (it seems less painful) and play next month, looks a good package for those in it, gl

Remember this being a bone of contention last year. Someone said that if a sky poker player goes deep stars/tilt will be sniffing and probs be able to protect you anyway.
It's happened a few times:
Peter eastgate qualified through ladbrokes- was a PS pro
Tony G (pokernews) put Tiffany Michelle in and she defected to UB
Joe Cada had UB gear on until the final when he was a pokerstars player

If you win the seat do you want to play??, if so doing as your told by the people in control of your flights/accom/buyin sounds like a basic thing to do. Why? I don't agree, tho if the hotel/flights etc are added then that may make a difference. If not, you've won a prize paid for by the losing satellite players, and have paid juice to the person/company organising that satellite, what is the obligation to say how high when they tell u to jump?
If you get offered a better deal then sucks to be you, unless you can buyout your stuck with it. Thanks
I'm pretty sure you wont get checked what colour undies your wearing, esp considering those dont get on tv. Again, thanks
Surely as a sponsored player you're getting put into this donkament anyway? And u think my questions are stupid?

Jeff, it seems to me that Sky's T&Cs are quite clear.
If you wanted to break them, then they're not going to put you in jail, but you're essentially asking Tikay here 'is it alright if I piss in your ear once we get to Vegas?'
Try and qualify through Grosvenor, then you'll have no conflict of interest.

I don't see how Sky can hold you to a contract when the big two can't?

Is there any added value to the Sky tournament?
I think this is crucial.
If it's a cash satty with no extras I would take a deal if offered deep in the tournament, if Sky add a hotel, or exes or whatever, I would wear Sky's badge throughout

Ha, I like your turn of phrase Andrew but I wasn't really trying to put the old boy in a tricky situation, some places I've qualified and they're very open that they'd like u to wear stuff if u don't mind but it's up to u, some will say u have to wear it but I dunno how far they push that (chase u round sticking patches on u every time u throw one off? Pull u out the comp?) and some say if u do we'll give u x y and z extra if u do but fair enough if u don't wanna.
Btw, Peter didn't qualify on Laddies, he bought a seat through them. That year they asked us all to sign a contract tying us to them, Peter didn't bother as he said he didn't see why he would want to sign his rights away should he get anywhere. I think the people who didn't sign weren't allowed into the lounge, didn't get the goodies etc etc, but Peter just wanted a quick way of buying in as he was a cash player on laddies so he wasn't bovved with the extras.
When he got deep, and the chequebooks came out, he said he had no ties to anyone, which from his point of view was true. When he signed for Stars, Laddies were upset and complained to Stars. They said they didn't think he was with anyone, and offered to allow Laddies to match his deal. They declined.

Keith
Didn't you qualify through betfair and take a deal with someone else the year before last?
My memory might be bad on this, so apologies if wrong.

Yes, I will tell you the entire story if you are interested.
I won a cash satty on Betfair.
They added no value (except a couple of free beers in their lounge), but I wore their badge on Day 1 and 2 just because.
I had a few chips late on day 2 and my friend John Duthie asked me to wear an EPT badge, which I agreed to.
I went to the Betfair lounge and they totally freaked out "you cannot wear that badge"
Meh.
There were two rest days before I played again.
In this time Pokerstars contacted me and offered me quite a big amount of money to wear their logo.
I decided to go back to Betfair and say, I'll carry on wearing your logo if you match Stars offer.
The guy in charge said "Look, I cannot sanction that, but if you wear Betfair today, I will give you 5k, and I'll let you know about the rest"
I agreed to that.
So, I get through that day with pretty good chips and arrive back in the lounge for the next days play expecting a decision.
The guy said "I haven't been able to get in touch with the people who can make this decision, but they said they are going to call in an hour, wear our badge for the first level and I'll tell you for at the first break"
So I reluctantly agree.
I go back at the first break "Sorry Keith, we cannot do it. But I'm afraid WSOP rules mean you cannot change sponsor midway through the days play, and as you've worn our logo for one level today you can't change to Pokerstars "
That was the lowest behaviour I can imagine in that spot.
I gave them every chance to match Stars offer and they treated me like that.
Despicable imo.
