Not going terribly well at DTD in the £500 thing.......am trying to talk myself out of a second bullet. Still have 15 bigs, but shove mode is engaged. I could re-enter with around 40 bigs, if need be.
Hopefully, common sense will prevail, and I'll go play some cash, or have an early night.
Sooooo tempting though. Daft, but tempting. My will of iron will save me, for sure.

Hi Tikay!
Sorry yoof corry business has been slow. Any of the yoof's have anything that needs corresponding, Ive seen there has been pictures of Planes lately, which will please the younger readers, not saying that ducks aren't cool but for the mass market of >26yr olds I reckon Planes are preferable over ducks. Perhaps this is an inditement of the state of the country that us yoof's are unable to appriciate a good duck any more, maybe it's a sign of the changing times, either way this diary will continue to provide something for everyone and remain a breeding ground of mutual respect throughout the generations.

How are things with S*y Poker and life in general, hope it's all going very well!
lilDave.
Thanks Yoof Corry, & I'm glad you had a better day out there yesterday.
Things with S*y Poker are going unbelievably well, thank you. Just been through yesterday's numbers, they are still at "Christmas" Levels, & we are into March now. We have crushed the traffic & uniques records for the last 5 weeks straight, too. I thnk we are about to overtake Laddies, though of course they are not the size they used to be. PKR is the disaster story of the last 6 months, no idea why, they were growing rapidly rearly last year, but they have fallen off a cliff since. But to get it in perspective, if all Online sites were added together, they would not, collectively, be anywhere near 'Stars traffic. They truly are different gravy.
PS - You like my duck, swan, & aircraft photos, then?
yes I love the ducks, but i have a in built fondness for ducks. must say the photography is excellent if indeed it is you taking the pictures!
Glad it's going well!! And yes things are picking up over here, been playing extremely long sessions in very big games last 3/4 days and results are starting to turn, the financial swings so far though are quite tame relative to how big we've been playing so we're far from out of the water yet!

Problem solved, up to 27,000.
UTG opened to 2,100' flatter in mid pos, I jammed with
. Second caller snapped with
and I held.
Think I just saved £560.
Average is 38,500, blinds 400-800/100

Mutual - really enjoyed that!
The Table was a tad frosty early doors, but it soon warmed up, & the banter was terrific.
However, I don't care HOW nice you are on my Diary, you are still being awarded the dreaded Timeform Squiggle, after those outrageous bluffs. For NOW, just a single squiggle, but don't push it, right?

Timeform squiggles, for those not aware.......
§ the 'Timeform squiggle'; the horse is unreliable (for temperamental or other reasons)
§§ the 'double squiggle'; the horse is so unsatisfactory as to be not worth a rating

DTD was HEAVING yesterday, so much so, I felt a little physically uncomfy, I get a bit funny in crowds, but lovely to see what a success it was.
I really thought an overlay was probable, but they smashed all records, over 600 runners (or more correctly, entries) for a £560 Tourney, wow. Where does all the money come from? I believe the average spend was north of £800.
Saw so many friends, it was lovely, & late evening, Tattoo Boy & the gang arrived. Within an hour of arriving, Mitch was up amongst the chip leaders, incred.
Chatted with Alex, it was great to see him back, ditto James Keys who said he cannot wait to return to Thailand.
I should have left my phone in the car, as Flushy rung me, he was heading to DTD on a train with Mr Cody, & wanted he & Jake entered for the £500. Truly, I think 10 calls & texts went back & forth, & my head was spinning. WE sorted it eventually, & I believe they both started the Tourney with around 6 Bigs, lol.
I have to return today, to do some business with Rob, Nick, Tighty & Flushy over the deal. I could do without heading all the way back up today - it will be the 3rd day straight I have driven London-Notts-London, & this on my "r & r" weekend. I must be mad. I don't mind the drive - 3 hours each way, I amuse myself thinking about stuff, but it is 6 hours of dead time when I can't do stuff, which irks a little - 18 hours wasted in 3 days is not good. Rough with smooth though, not complaining.

I was never north of starting stack yesterday, groan! Not much I could do different though, another day the hands fall the other way. Tens lost to Q-10, Queens lost to K-Q, A-K to A-Q, that sort of thing, all pretty standard. Then I folded 7-8 oop in a multi-way affair to a 4 bet called in 3 spots, & watched the flop come 5-6-9 rainbow, lol.
I dribbled down to about 13k, & was musing on going for a daft second bullet, but luckily I got the 2xup just in time. There was a raise to 2.1k, calld, I jammed with
& got looked up by
for a nice double-up+.
But eventually I re-jammed K-J into A-K & that was that.
A kid to my immediate left impressed tremendously, nice lad, really LOVED his game, think he was a Geordie Kid, Marc Foggin? Hope he runs deep, lovely lad.
Gotta go back today for a Meeting, so will probs play the £150 whilst there. Goodbye another £150, marv. But no Live Poker for me for several weeks now, the Diary is rammed, so I may as well indulge whilst I can.

I still need to reply to a couple of questions, (Bobby/Peter Roche included) but I'm out of time, & so will do so later.
Off to DTD now, to burn some money.
Going to hook up with Tom & see if he can explain diggie & opty zoom to me - good luck him - then play the £500.
I went a bit heavy with the staking on this, but it was by design, & I'm happy with my selections, now I just need variance to be in a good mood.
I had a little bit of James Atkins in it - 2% - but he ended up 4th in the overnights, so we have one sweat through to Sunday already.
My remaining action is, I think, as follows.,.....
Sharky - 20%
Skippy - 20%
Junior - 20%
Tom - 10%. (I sold on the other 15% I had, trying to get out of it....)
JK - 25%
ZeroFive - 20%
Add to that my own Entry fee - £560 (PLEASE don't let me be tempted to take a second bullet!) & I have a few bob riding on it.
I expect we'll do our dough big time, but I might just get a few sweats through to tomorrow, & I only need one to cop a decent score & we are home & hosed.
I am very bullish on that group.
We lost Tom, Skippy & Junior, but Sharky, JK, & James Atkin are all still in with a shout. Zero Five was not in this, my action in him was in the £770, so that one is not in play yet. I could get out of it this weekend yet.....

OK, am gonna head north again now, I hope it is not quite as rammed in DTD today, it really was a bit much for me yesterday.
Oh, & my "tikay Tips" thread was com yesterday, talk about aftertiming, & the boys had some fun at my expense. Epic-ish. The DTD wifi kept dropping out in my Ippy, it was quite frustrating, God only knows how someone could play Online poker in there. But I got my "tikay tips" bets on, with difficulty, wrong price, wrong market, backed too late, got out too early, bla bla. Where's Channing when I need him?
Had a good session with Sam Razavi yesterday, hoping to get he & Mr Dempsey to come to SPT Brighton next week "dressed up".......
I'm out of here. If someone at DTD - Tighty perhaps? - could arrange to buy me in for the £150, I'd be most grateful, thank you.
M25, M40, A43, M1, A46 awaits. With a huuuuuge latte for company, & Desert Island Discs on the wireless. D-I D is this today......

Who? Never heard of her, but sometimes there "strangers" to me turn out to be absolute corkers.
All good.

Lol, it was the only way I could play, no cards to speak of and just trying to make some chips. Like you I was pretty much under the starting stack all day with both bullets having lost the first bullet with my aces cracked by kings. Never got going after that.
See you next time.

Spotted outside DTD over the weekend.
Various one word descriptions were being made by those who saw it.
Ostentatious?

In the dying stages of a day's updating that lasted fully SEVENTEEN hours yesterday, through into today, somehow Tighty managed to keep going, with his little golden one liners.
In reply to a question just before FIVE AM today, he was asked who had won the £50 Tourney, he replied, with typical Tighty efficiency, within 4 minutes, as follows....
"do you know who won the £50 comp, cheers"
Our hero replied
"Christopher Alexander
Christopher is a neurosurgeon from Lenton, whose hobbies include Parrots, snorkelling and Collecting Tyre prints"
Not bad at the end of three days updating & a 17 hour shift, I'd say.

Do u drive up to Nott's from Central London? It's a long trek, puts me off the most about going tbh, I prefer Magic 105.4 tho :0)

Morning Dreens.
Yes, I drove up from Hampton Court yesterday, & back down again last night.
I did the same thing on Saturday.
Don't ask, just assume I am daft. It was my "rest & relaxation" weekend.
Don't ask, just assume I am daft.
Fortunately, it was all worthwhile as I crushed the Tourneys.
I did, however, have a somewhat eye-watering Omaha hand, & whilst I generally steer clear of poker talk on here - I am currently advertising for a Poker Corry - if I am brave enough, I might just Post it later today.
