On BBC Four right now Danny Baker is doing a programme about bridges and his opening comment was 'Bridges are more interesting than any creature that has ever been on a David Attenborough programme'

Bad Science is a brilliant book.  Ben Goldacre is also very good live, the Uncaged Monkeys tour was fantastic, a nerdgasm.

I sat and watched the Parliament Live Webstream last night for 30 minutes (A phrase I never thought I'd say!) where Ben Goldacre pretty much schooled two representatives from the multi-billion pound companies GlaxoSmithKline and Roche.

From about 19:08 onwards.

http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=13017

I read about that.

I'm not sure I agree with the media & Parliamentary hate for Corporations doing what they are absolutely obliged to - making as much money, within the law, as possible.

Every time a City Big Cat gets hauled before Parliamentary Committees about whatever, the MP's on the Committee seem intent on being as rude & sarcastic as they are able, knowing full well that the witnesses cannot respond in kind. That is pretty low class stuff imo. Hit them whilst their hands are tied, well done lads. I get that next door, as you know, where some guys regularly & deliberately abuse my colleagues & I knowing full well we cannot respond in kind, or bite back. Such is life the other side of the fence.

Ben Goldacre is asked to explain why GlaxoSmithKline are the bad guys in this and he talks about GSK being given a $3 billion fine in 2012 for criminal and civil acts of fraud.  No so much within the law in this case.

I appreciate engineering an much as the next guy, perhaps even more than most, but that statement has convinced me that Danny Baker is a fat tosser.

Good morning, or in 26 year old speak - apparently - wassup.

I'll catch up with replies this morning, or try to, but first, a minor diversion.......

Not so much a slight diversion as, perhaps, a flight of fancy?

Anyone watching the World Snooker Championships?

If so, I have a confession to make.

Have you noticed the Lady Referee, Michaela Tabb, who is a blonde Member?

Well I have, & I have to confess, she is one of the few women I would leave home for. In every way, magnifique, I cannot fault her, she has turned my head good & proper.

She has all the different looks, too, perhaps that is part of it, but Michaela in a somewhat fetching uniform & gloves just about sends me over the edge. Something somehow dominating about her, too, & I'm quite sure Max Mosley would enjoy Afternoon Tea with her.

I hasten to add, this is pure love, & not sensual in any way whatsoever.

Look away now if you are faint-hearted.

If nothing else, my job next door enjoys some remarkable highs & lows, some rotten jobs, & some nice gigs. I'm the go-to bloke in so many spots, but sometimes I go-to nice places.

In the 30 hours ending at Midnight last night, I had plenty of both.

It ended with 5 hours in a TV Studio working with Anna Fowler, with our Guest my very good friend Simon Trumper. He was rationed to 4 minutes per hour of ISPT puff, & he somehow doubled that. Shush, not a word to mum.

And we covered the Thursday night Sky Sports Bounty Hunter, where the winner was none other than the man who comes to my rescue on another Forum so often when things get hot with wise soothing words, Neil Giblin. Neil, Mr JAKALLY, (pictured below) picked up a very handy £2,000 for his efforts.

Now as go-to jobs go, that was a pretty nice evening I'd say.

Variety? Just a bit.

Here's Anna's Face, Trumper's arse, & Mr Giblin.

All Our Yesterdays

Where did that photo of Trumper's arse come from?

Well here's a memory-jerker.

I give you, from deep within  the archives of blonde,  Snoopy's "2006 BEAGLE AWARDS".

Well worth a quick stroll down Memory Lane.

We barely see snoops now. Under the thumb, imo.

I'd never noticed before but doesn't Neil Giblin look a lot like Mitch Johnson
