Nooooo...... Not Maplin.

I love Maplin, its an institution, like Woolworths or Jessops.

You could always rely on Maplin to stock the stuff that other stockists didn't stock.

Excuse me, do you have a 12 - 19 volt inverter with a detachable four pin plug?

Certainly Sir, what colour would you like?

Maplin? Can't say I've ever heard of them.

Bit of snow overnight, took these photos on my morning perambulation.

Isn't snow lovely? It completely changes the acoustics. Lay in bed, & even without peering out of the window, you know it's snowed, as everything sounds so different.

A 2 mile walk on fresh, dry, crunchy snow is wonderfully satisfying.

And here's a lonely, brave soul from Moseley Rowing Club having a row.

How on earth do Russian, Polish, Indian or Japanese people ever make sense of the English language?

Context is everything.

We can row a boat, or have a row with our neighbour or have a row of seats. That little 3 letter word has completely different meanings.

You are definitely progressing with your photography. That first photo is really nicely framed with the tree in the foreground and the diagonal line of the paths and river leading the eye to the houseboats in the distance.

I don't know if it was subconscious or intentional but it's really excellent.

oioi, thank you Tom.

Yes, it was intentional, things like the tree framing the photo are now in my repertoire.

Not so intentional was that shadow of me taking the photo which can be seen at the very bottom, just left of centre. The sun must have moved.

Anyone want to guess why the crowd all stood there?

Maybe that jewellers is a pawnbroker & they were all trying to pawn or redeem something?

Is it the day after the favourite won The Grand National and they're all waiting to get paid out?

Ha, that might actually be the answer, awaiting the Bookies Runner.

Hey Tony

Do you ever watch Talonchick's twitch channel?  I didn't rate her much before I saw it, but she has game.  I have definitely warmed to her.  Her kids show up every so often and I think she is a natural for it.

Most of her content is O8, though you'll have to put up with NLO8 too.   Monday night is the big PLO8 tourney on stars, so that is your best bet.  She usually late regs at 9 or so uk.   If she isn't there, you often get Lex instead and he definitely has game.

I think you'll enjoy it.  The final table song is bloody awful though, and you have to be ready to switch off some of the songs in the break! Don't let it put you off, would recommend.

No.

In fact, I'll be honest, I don't ever recall watching anyone's Twitch stream.

I will give that a go next Monday though. Where would I find it? I've got a full Sky Subscription, so I've got all the channels.

"final table song".

Wait. It has music?

FFS.

Clever linking to the word "row" though David, wp, wp.

The stock market value of Snap, owner of the Snapchat messaging app, fell $1.5bn after reality TV star Kylie Jenner said she no longer used it.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43163544

How much do you think would be knocked off if Warren Buffett said it?

Apologies Spurs Bloke, I missed that.

Have to be honest - again - I had no idea who this Kylie Jenner woman was.

So I went googling.

Apparently, she's a social-media personality, whatever that is.

Good Lord.

She has 104 million Instagram followers. What?

Should I even know what Instagram is? Jeez.

More googling suggests that Kendall Jenner - related, one assumes? - has 26 million Twitter followers.

How does this happen? Who follows these sorts, & why? What's the actual buzz in following a "social media personality"?

Anyone, for the resident pervs & social-media personality fanboys, here's Kylie, pouting supremely.

Must say, not really my cup of tea, but I'm-a-guessing the feeling is mutual.

Best post a photo of Kendall Jenner whilst I'm about it, to avoid sibling upsets.

This one is definitely NOT a "pout". I'm not sure what it actually suggests, & I'm not sure I want to know.
