FIFTH WSOP flag. Now firmly ensconced in the top 300 UK players of all time. Scenes.

Cheesy

With the wit points, the brevity multiplier and the bonus for ensconced, this might be your highest scoring post, Chompy.

Very well played.

Huh?

Please.

SIXTH not fifth.

Deduct some of those points please Tal, for inaccuracy & sloppy research.

Talking of ledgers, best do this before I lose track;

SATURDAY 2nd June – Binions $365 PLO8 $365 spent, $0 return

MONDAY 4th June – Golden Nugget $250 Mixed PLO8/O8/BigO $250 spent, $0 return

TUESDAY 5th June – Golden Nugget $250 Big O $250 spent, $362 return

WEDNESDAY 6th June, Binions, $365 PLO $0 return

THURSDAY 7th June – Venetian, $600 Big O $0 return

FRIDAY 8th June – WSOP $565 PLO $876 return

So it looks like we have spent $2,395 & got back $1,238.

If we continue at this rate........

Today's plan is to head back to Venetian Expo Hall G. At least it won't be as warm as it is currently here at The Rio, where the aircon is still out of commission & it's seriously sweaty-betty.

4pm start, which is midnight UK.

The schedule architects at Venetian look like they have had a bit of fun with today's PLO8.

Game - PLO 8 or Better

Format - 8 Max

Entry - $800

Guarantee - $88,888

Starting chips - 18,000

Yes yes, we got the drift.

If only there were a Poker Site with several eights in their name to sponsor it.

Should be plenty of Asians playing, with all those 8s floating about.

Good luck!

Is the entire Rio hotel without air-con Tony? I assumed from your reportage it was just the conference centre/poker area.

If so it's been out one hell of a long time and must have been unbearable trying to sleep last night - good job you only need a couple of hours kip per night.

Morning Ralph.

No, the Hotel & Casino was fine, but the entire Conference Centre - the WSOP area - was without AC.

Feels a little churlish to complain about the heat when I'm out here living the dream, but my oh my it was unbearably hot & uncomfortable last night. It made it hard to concentrate, too, though it was the same for everyone.

I came down to the Media Centre at 6am this morning, & it was just as bad, stifling heat. Now, at 11.20am local, most of the Rooms have aircon working again. In fact one wiseguy in Brasilia just complained it was "too cold".

I rarely sleep more than 4 or 5 hours at night, & last night I was buzzing after the deepish run, & could not sleep at all. Off for a power nap shortly though, preceded by a sandwich & a choc ice.

Here's another one for Chompy, this is Handsome Paul. I think he's called "Handsome" because nobody can spell his surname. (Ephremson?).

Paul's line of work is - or was, the last I heard - something to do with greyhound racing, might have been TV Production or similar.

So, so handsome.

Like yourself, Handsome Paul has five WSOP flags but he's firmly ensconced OUTSIDE the top 300 all-time Brits, down in a poultry 363rd spot.

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=82638

Think his business is something to do with marketing. TV adverts or some such. Plus his role as handsome greyhound ambassador.

For the record I have SIX Rio flags (from eight tournaments played) and am loosely ensconced inside the top 750.

Leif, though, has 26 WSOP flags AND has never missed a sunset during the series. That's why we all have a crush on him.

Not totally sin free, but, by not having the burger and chips you are not ruining all your hard work.
It must be hard with all the temptations and foods from around the world.
Trust me, I know how easy it is to pile on the pounds and regret it afterwards.
Hoping for another good run tonight, take their chips, like a greedy fat boy, take ALL their chips.
