I dunno why i feel the need to post this in here but its as good as anywhere else.....
The Vic is in the middle of a festival at the moment, did anyone actually know about it? I only just found out, this lack of advertising is ridic, how hard is it to send an e-mail to pokerineurope.com??!?!!?!
I was looking on their website to see what regular tourneys they had on, as a couple of us fancied playing sometime this week. The website said that this week was the "London Poker Championships - See Brochure for details" - what Brochure??? There was no link to it on the website,I tried goggling it & couldn't get any info whatsoever! We may have played if there had been a reasonably priced tourney on.
It is strange that Grosvenor seem reluctant to promote their own festivals!
Anyhoo - Tikay, how's Vegas treating you? Sorry to see you had a fender-bender, but at least no-one was hurt. Will be making my way out to Sin City in August, when the temperature drops a little to 100F!!!!

Steve!
Vegas is wonderful, if a little hectic. It'd be even wonderful-er & hectic-er if you & His Compo-Ness were here. Amazingly, half of Vegas have copied Compo's shoe "fashion", it's just too much to bear.
Have you grown yet?
PS - We must catch up on that thing we discussed a few weeks back. That bloody American Embassy malarky prevented us meeting up to discuss.

He's MAD.
Yes, the Seniors Finalist Mad Marty is here, engaged, from what I can see, as Court Jester in the Ladbrokes Lounge.
Some haircut that - but actually, it suits him I think.

She's MAD.
This is Mads Harper - a legend amongst the Updating Community. She's the Mother Hen of all Bloggers & Updaters, & fights for their rights, (to party?), & bites, tooth & nail. Every Updater admires her. She's employed by PokerStars.
She got "Best Staff Employee" Award, or somesuch, at last years European Poker Awards in Paris, & received the biggest cheer of the night when she collected her Gong.

She's not BAD.
Vicky
Coren
, looking splendid. She's a fully paid-up member of Team Pokerstars, since she won the London EPT a few years back on her PokerStars Debut.
Timing being what it is, she had been a Site Pro at Sporting Odds/Paradise Poker (same thing at the time) for a few years, & though she did her job well - raising awareness of the Site via Media Interest - she never really won a bean in Tourneys while there, though she'd always been in positive territory in the Vic Cash-Game.
She wore a Paradise Poker Logo at one event, & they demanded it be covered up, or removed, as it was allegedly too large, well over the specified maximum Logo Size for TV Coverage. In fact, it was exactly the correct size logo - before she put it on. That got plenty of coverage. As did the Logo.
I inteviewed her today for
Sky
Poker
, & it was a terrific interview, notwithstanding my wooden questions. Well worth a watch, as she discussed all sorts, including her % swaps with the on-fire
Neil
Channing
. Apparently, Vicky always swaps a % with Neil. But omitted to do so at this year's Irish Open.......
Her father, Allen, who died quite recently, was one of the most gifted journalists & writers of his era, & a fine Radio 4 regular on "chat-shows" & such-like.

Identify the owner of this effiminite i-Pod, seen at the WSOP today. Very popular blonde.
He showed me his brand new watch today, he just purchased it yesterday, out here. It has a scented strap. You think I'm kidding? I kid not.

I would love to be out there at the mo - reading your diary is bringing back some great memories from last year!
I'm still reaching the heady heights of 5ft something or other - I believe I am an optical illusion - I'm actually 6ft 2in but have very short legs!
And, yes, we must catch up - I'm making headway in getting the price together and the bosses are keen on the idea. I need to pick your brains on some finer points. I'm working a nice roster that gives me plenty of time to meet you on a day off.

I must make the next one tougher.
G-B Thewy hit FOUR sets in the first Level of the Main Event today......"but I never got paid much" he said wearily.....
He's wearing open-toed sandals & white socks. Unbelievable.
He had 35k at the end of Level Two, & 30k at Dinner-Break, but I've not heard since. He popped up to my room - sorry, suite - at Lunch-Break, & said it as a real nice room, with a lovely view "Not as nice as mine, at The Venetian though". Is there no end to his luckness?

Samantha Alleyne, Marketing (or is it PR, I always confuse the two roles) Head Honcho at Ladbrokes.
It was via Samantha that blonde were able to do the Sponsorship Deal with Laddies.
I promised to attend the Laddies Reception in the Voodoo Lounge tonight, but when I got there, the queue to get in was 200 people long. You can only access the Voodoo Lounge via a private lift, 6 at a time, & so I gave up.
Samantha allowed us to use the Laddies Lounge most of today, so big thanks to her.

One half of Hinge & Bracket, Murray Brown. The other half, Shirley, is not here, sadly.
Murray's OK, though Shirley revs him up. He's a really good Stud player. Well, I think he is, though how would I know, really? He's won many a big Stud Tourney, all over Europe, but prefers Cash, which he plays at The Vic, & Luton. I met him a few times in St Petesburg, Taleon Club, where his record is superb, & he has the best record of any Brit there, & plenty have played there. He's had a few results in Moscow, & Austria, too. He's been away in Vegas about a month, & returns home 10th July. He's thinking of renting or buying a flat in Paris for 3 or 4 months, so he can play the very deep Cash Game at Aviation. He's one of the few genuine Pros, & he earns a tidy living playing big Stud Cash Games.
