Imagine this moral dilemma.

You own a Funeral Director's business. In Wootton Bassett, right by RAF Lyneham.

8 soldiers get killed in Afghanistan.

What do you think?

Flown into Lyneham, but not buried there. Most of them are flown into Brize Norton where I live, but I think they use Lyneham too now as the Coroner here can't cope.  Very depressing.

Well yes, but what does the Funeral Director think, when 8 young men get killed doing their Duty for our Country, & he's just scooped an 8 body haul of business?

the funeral director doesnt get any buisness from it most are escorted to there homes where there local funeral directors take over

The Pictures in The Times suggested all the hearses came from the same company - they had consecutive number plates.

But that misses my point completely.

How does that juxtaposition of emotions sit together? Would they like more to be killed, because it's good for business?

Guess I should never have asked a sensible question. My bad.

Answer obv totally dependant on the individual.

A better question would be "In his position, how would you feel?"

So....  ?

Mixed feelings I guess.

A bit like seeing your mother in law drive over a cliff in your new car.

I don't know Tom - that's why I asked.

The ability to wear someone else's shoes is not always a good thing, it messes with the mind shocking.

I'll try. Favourites, really, not ability.

In no particular order.....

Henry Longhurst

Peter Alliss

Tom Watson

Gary Player

Seve

Tiger

Henry Cotton

Sam Snead

Harry Vardon

Olazabal

I'm sure I've forgotten a few, but that's my first stab.

Seve will always be the Wizard around the greens for me.

Are you a Faldo fan? What do you think about his knighthood?

Faldo?

"No", & "wtf?" are my answers.

But I did admire his consistency. He could shoot 18 straight pars in a Major - extraordinary.

As to playing style, he was to Golf what Steve David was to snooker. The excitement was in the predictability & sheer ability to do simple things well.

Whereas with Seve, it was like waiting for the car crash - & how he'd somehow scramble Par from the wreckage. Sheer genius.

Embarrassingly, I'd never heard of him, sorry. I must have a hundred Golf Books at home, & that name just did not register at all.

I just googled him - some man, it seems.

There's a great You Tube Vid of him, too - looks like he had a homemade swing, but it clearly worked. Go take a look.

There are some comments under the Video - one by Tony Bruen - his son, I wonder?

And this, which I rather liked....

thanks for posting - great footage except for nick faldo at the end
