Well, you gotta have your pic taken there!
In some ways I'm so bloody old & miserable, in other ways, I'm still a big kid..

...and THEN it got better.
In the Staff Canteen, I espied Helen Chamberlain.
We did a good few Shows together, but that was 2 or 3 years back. Would ashe remember me?
You must excuse my coarse language, but I quote her word for word.
"Well well well, how are YOU, you ugly old fucker?"
Talk to anybody, me.

Ostreley today was about a Photo-Shoot.
I was dreading it, shaking with nerves, but the photographer was very good with his people skills.
I was toild to bring ftom the Feltham WArdrobe three shirts, three jackets, da de da.
I took the Plum Jacket, but it failed to pass muster with Mother Hen. "You are NOT wearing that".
Went to the make-up depaertment - jeez, what an art that is over there. They applied foundation via a sort of air-brush/spray, all very odd. All to do with HD apparently. If HD ever comes to Sky Poker, I'll be gone, it's terribly intrusive, & I don't exactly stand close examination.
Next up was the "Stills Studio".....

The camera he used was a right bit of kit.
We could drop a pile of chips, & the camera froze them all mid-air in perfect focus.
The Camera was connected by a cable to a PC, & the photos appeared instantly on screen. He was rat-tat-a-tatting the Auto-whatever, & the pics were being taken by the hundred, all appearing instantly on the Monitor full-screen.
The Studio was very small - & expecting rain, apparently.

And then there was the Camera - about £20k's worth, I gather, including the suite of kit that comes with it.
I thought the pricey bit was the lens, but apparently, the expensive bit is the opposite end. No idea what it does.
Anyone know what this Camera is? (Don't ask me).

You can take a half-decent pic though even with my little camera - the photographer used my £100 jobbie to snap this, as a momento.
How cool do I look in this?
My Dad would have ben well proud, I tell ya.

It allows light to pass through a small opening for a measured period of time.

I've been helping out in the Studio as "stooge" for a bunch of Presenter Screen Tests. It's not just standing there, the stooge has to try & put the Auditionees - is that a word? - at ease, try & relax them, so that they give their best.
Judging by some PHA debates & Posts, the way to help people is to abuse them, to belittle them, rub their noses in it. Yeah, right. It DOES work for some, but every individual is just that - an individual - & they all need different buttons pressed in different ways. I struggle to understand why intelligent folks cannot grasp that - we all respond to different methods. In that respect, I think I did the job well. I do enjoy the psychological side of things, & I think I'm nearly competent in undersatanding the basics of irt.
Anyway, we did 8 of these Screen Tests on Wednesday, & another three this afternoon/evening.
The "test" piece is a short segment of a pseudo Show. Top of Show, Intro, Telephone Guest, Hand-Review, Out of Part One, then, intro to Part Two, when I was the subject of an Interview - about non-poker stuff - & I needed to respond in ways that would get the best out of the Auditioners. (Better word?).
Each Test involved doing that lot three times. First, a "Block-Through", (Technical rehearsal & familiarisation), then As-Live Rehearsal, then the real thing. So that's the same thing 3 times = 33 times in all. Boring? Not at all, beccause there's always the need to try to get the best of of the Presenters. It made me think about how Stage Actors, doing the same Show night after night - cope. The key is keeping it fresh I think.
The "range" of Presenters was very wide. Some were seasoned TV Presenters, others had never been in a Studio before. (And all were Female, if I recall correctly).
There is no formal scoring or grading method, but they all need to tick a bunch of boxes, some of which - technically, especially - are mandatory. A good poker knpowledge is worth SFA if they can't manaqe Autocue fluently, or listen to three different peeps (Producer, Director, & AP) down the Talkback simultaneously. Fortunately, I played no role in judging them, what a job that must be.
It's quite poignant, too. 11 folks wanted the job, only one can get it. That means 10 disappointed peeps, but I think that's part & parcel of TV work.
Great fun for me though. I got paid for it, too. Happy Days for me, not so for the unlucky 10. Tough world this.
Just give the gig to Georgie Thompson imo
Who?

That'd be Shutter Speed then?

Well the period of time would be governed by the shutter speed...
Move on.

measured period of time= shutter speed
small opening = aperture
aperture + shutter speed = exposure.
the camera is a hasselblad, what is known as a medium format camera. it boasts a sensor twice the size of a normal 35mm. 50 megapixel, and about 16 grands worth....
nice
