So heaven knows what will happen when the DC is fully released.
you should get a big leap in your numbers when HEM and PT become compatible with sky. playing without a HUD just feels wrong to me now. a bit like wondering around without your trousers on or something.
Possibly.
It's quite an interesting thought, actually, but I would imagine 95% of the existing player base have never heard of either, & would not wish to use such aids. It's a totally different market (at present), & they play for recreational reasons, supported by a very strong Community.
Who'd have thought, players playing poker to enjoy themselves?
I would add that I have never used either, & barely know what they are, but it does not impact upon my enjoyment of the game, or my admittedly modest profitablity. Different strokes, different folks, & all that.
Note the success of APAT when they focused on the smaller buy-in players, ditto DTD with the 900 runner £50 jobbie (could have easily filled 1,500 seats), & Sky Poker. It's where 99% of the poker market is, but these guys don't worry about HEM, PT, Rake, DC's, Staking, & all that stuff. They just want to play a bit of poker, have a bit of fun, without getting all addicted.
PS - I'm forbidden, when "on message" at SP, to use, when referring to Bet, Vegas (Online Slots), Bingo, or Poker, the term "
addictive
". The correct word is, of course,
compelling
.
Compelling is nice, it's good, addictive is bad. Oh yes.
so at the moment you've got a load of recreational players throwing money at each other, you've said in the past that that is good for the site. many serious players would love to play those players on sky but the horrible software and lack of HEM puts them off.
now you're improving the software (so the HUD companies should be able to get their SW working with it)
and advertising on 2+2. so you get a bunch of good players taking all the money off the site no? not that i'm complaining, looks like sky will be the place to play. for a while at least
Not quite, it's very fiddly, and not a well used site by most HEM users i'd suggest, I cant see a major app bothering to work out how to parse and continue to fix not working apps. Tisn't just a case of 'save hhs to file and import to hem' as there is no functionality to save your hhs to your computer or even download them at all.

The theme of multi headed dogs reminds me of a ditty that my paternal grandmother was fond of repeating.
It began thus.
I had a dog, and his name was Ben,
he had nine arseholes, (nearly ten)..
I bought a dog from a blacksmith once.
I got him home and straight away he made a bolt for the gate.

But it's not all about poker......
Tikay,
Do many People sign up for Pokerz and move across to "Larry the lobster" slots and such like.
Yes. One or two......
They have an extrordinary range of games. Community Cops & Robbers (wtf?) seems to be the most talked about. "Deal or no Deal" is another, but they have hundreds of them, it's a whole new world out there. They licence some, own some, all very complex stuff, but it is an absolutely whopping market, & dwarfs most forms of Online gaming when measured by volume. The % return is fairly small, but it's over a mind-boggling daily number. Honest, Online Slots are incredibly popular. I've gambled on pretty much everything in life, but I've yet to venture onto Online Slots, the mere thought makes my mind numb.
They migrate across to Bet, too, in ever bigger numbers. The Bet side of the business fascinates me, & I go through every single days numbers like a kid in a sweetshop. I know when the Football results will be good or bad, (we like draws, & upsets), ditto horse racing results, etc. They send us a preview of each days football & racing, etc, what results will be good or bad, how the market is moving, special offers, da de da. For those who like a punt, it's a good read. You may even see some of it on blonde soon, who knows?

There's probably easy money to be made for the better players on sky but because of the software and number of players they can't get the volume in.
Chances are that a 20 tabling 25c/50c iPoker pro who's a slight loser makes more off his rakeback than he could make being 10bb/100 on Sky playing $5/$10
Just guessing like.

Perfectly understandable, as was. But that was pre-Optimisation. Since the Site was Optimised*, the load-speed has become almost "normal", & with it, the ability to play as many Tables as anyone could wish. The new Client, available to all in the next few days, is lightning fast, too.
* Optimised? No idea what it means. I think it means they cleaned up all the processes which slowed it down. Whatever they done, it was like night & day compared to previously.

No idea Matt. But they don't do $$$'s, it's all £'s. I'm, not sure why anyone could not play 20 Tables at the £ equivelant of 25c/50c though. Rakeback? Wash your mouth out! "Cash For Points", please. It's less, I'm quite sure, but I know any number of players who get well into 4 figures every month. Equivelant to five figures elsewhere, probably.

I 20 table nl50 but it's not for the C4P because it really is nowhere near as good as any form of rakeback, though who'd want to play on ipoker I don't know.
And don't worry the hand history thing doesn't tilt me, I had a word with Adam at DTD SPT about how to improve the hhs to bring them inline with normal basic hand history standards of information.

Enough of this for today, before the Mods get on my case. My defence is that I'm just fielding questions, politely, like......
OK, off to enlighten everyone about tonight's £220 jobbie, then do a 30 minute Pre-Record, folowed by Make-Up, Wardrobe, then the 4 hour Live Show with LML as Presenter. Yup, I run good.
Tomorrow, we set off early doors for Blackpool, I'm taking LML up, & we stay at "BIG BLUE" Friday & Saturday nights. The London-Blackpool drive on a Friday is the Drive to Hell.
Friday evening we'll play the regular Blackpool G Tourney, then Saturday is Leg One of the 2010/11 SPT. Tighty will be there, too.
Sunday, drive back down from Blackpool to London, sigh, & maybe into G-Luton to play a little poker.
Monday, the merry-go-round starts again. It seems barely weeks since Happy New Year, & suddenly it's nearly Christmas. Tired, yes, bored, never.

Thank God for that. You get a sort of written form of Tourettes when you tilt, & let's be fair, your tilt-point is pretty low. It's kind of scary, but funny too.

My tilt point for poker and bad beats etc is very high, but for FTP/random other things my word I get brain farts instantly just thinking about it. arfghghghghg must control myself.

yes hence I seem to know what i'm talking about with regards to sky !
edit and 20-24 tabling with 10 secs per decision no timebank ever and no ordering of table priorities sure is intense!
