Went to Luton tonight, only Live Poker in a fortnight (ish), so was raring to go.

I have on my Table Mr Trevor Webbor, & the eldish baldish plumpish Jewish Gent, forget his name, but it was Table Limp.

Firrst hand, SIX limpers, checked every street, all the way. Pot goes to mid-position Trevor who showed 3-2 off for a pair of two's, three kicker. WTF is he doing in the hand to start with, I'm thinking, & how does it get to the end 6 way & he wins with bottom pair?

Next hand, rinse repeat. This will be interesting.

4th hand, my SB, EIGHT limpers. I find A-Q, & decide to put a stop to this limping nonsense. How much to bet here? 500? 2k? Bugger it, before I could decide, my hand had somehow pushed my entire stack across the line. Stop this limping nonsense right here & now, OK?

BB beats me in the pot with K-K.

Night all. Never felt so daft in my life. Deserved it, too.

THEN, to cap it all, I get the rub from Vinni - the man I've been telling "you owe it to yourself to play the game properly".

Marv.

Drive back to Heathrow - took 19 hours, or it seemed to. Claire phoned me, a rarity that.

"You OK?

"Yes, of course, why?

"Oh, only Vinni told me he'd seen you at Luton, but you were no longer in your seat. Wondered if you were ill or something".

rg#/.xt;;;][.pz,c.h..e\.fuckoffyoiutwatvinni.,c';,;,hx'g,lxmcnmmgkGaarghs.

If only I were Tiltbeam, I could be so tilted. (I often wonder if he tilts when traffic lights change to red?)

Teach me to be so bloody cocky.

Even the footie fans seem to be at last realising what a big man Avram Grant is, & he's now getting some cheers.

How he is managing to remain so dignified amongst all that mess is quite something.

I don't really give a monkeys about West Ham, or any other football team in truth, but I'd so love him to get his just rewards. With another Team.

The DTD Update debate rumbles on. It's quite interesting.

Tighty & I are on slightly different wavelengths. Which is no bad thing. We've had a cracking debate about it - quite a robust debate - on the Mods Board. He's a wonderful man to debate with, he tells it as he sees it, me too, & it never gets to arguing - some fail to see the difference, & slide in daft stuff. I almost look forward to debating with Tighty, it's such a pleasure to deal with someone so honest & articulate.

I sort of see it (DTD & blonde) as a couple splitting up, going their seperate ways, after a few good years of bliss. It's best not to look back too much when it happens, it only increases the pain. The DTD-funded Updates have gone, let's move on.

Both of us believe a busy Forum is a healthy Forum, & there's the clue.

A DTD Update adds about 10% to the blonde Monthly Post Count.

This month, we never did the DTD Update, & yet, with, I think, almost 7 days still to go, the Post Count is already the highest for 7 months. Extrapulating the current Post-Count to the month end, it will be the highest Post-Count for 15 months, or nearly so.

And why?

Well, the DTD Updates ended, but the Diary fad took off, & I really think that's changed the whole mood & tone of blonde. Some won't go the distance, but new ones will appear - I know of at least one new one due soon. And they are spread nicely around the Boards, too. I think Diaries bring a sense of ownership, & the quality of Post improves as a result, not just the quantity. Look how Cos's Diary has (largely) kept him out of mischief, & he loves doing it, he's proud of it, as so many other Diary authors & owners are. I read them all, every single one. Not every day, time does not permit, but I think they are a splendid collective.

They are not for everyone, if course, & many dislike them, or disagree as to their placement. So be it, it's a broad church, always was.

For me, anything which reduces the toxic content, the aggro, is good, but again, some like a bit of heat.

Someone - an opinion-former - wrote to me a few days back & said he loved the current blonde mood. Me too.

So, back to the DTD Updates. They may re-start, they may not, but life will go on. But I'd be quite cross with Tighty if he did them on a voluntary basis. That's just wrong, the man's given enough to blonde, & the blondes.

That's my view, anyway.

Trevor can't fold jack-shit! I got him off that time, though, oh yes. Then he said "aaah, I woulda won if I called the 8,500, I had J-3".

It was my sole Live Poker for about 2 weeks, & I was "a bit cross" with myself for wasting it. What a donkey.

I was looking forward to an evening of MDD observations. He's a very funny man, as he pontificates on one elbow.

I actually arranged LML & Orford's Luton trip for tomorrow, (today now, Tuesday) then belatedly realised, only today, that it clashes with the blonde-Sky Poker League. I was slightly mortified (can I be that?) to realise they clashed, bugger. I just can't swerve the blonde-Sky League, end of. Tighty would beat me to pulp, & quite right too.

Anyway, it'll leave the coast clear for Choppy to fawn over LML. He gets so jealous when she gazes at me lovingly, & undresses me with her eyes.

Shush!

I thought we agreed you would not ever mention that matter again? The debate has ended, finito.

Butttttttttttttt

Last night the whole WSOP 2011 Schedule arrived, & all the non-WSOP sideys & stuff. I can't tell you how tempted I was, when I read it, to, for just once in my life, go & spend a month out there this year, just playing the Ceasars & Venetian Deepie stuff, & maybe a WSOP jobbie or two.

I'm going to blank it out of my mind, or else the idea will just grow & grow.

Yeah, I was looking at the schedule last night as well and it does get the juices going to want to go and play the lot.

I'm going to have to embarrass you here and go with this as I'm 99% sure I'm right and your wrong and it might change your opinion, also everyone loves to say wiiiiiiiii I was right you where wrong Smiley

At the Sky event I mentioned to tikay how much I'd love to play the ME due to the value there was to playing it (obv he knows this already) and I asked him if he'd played it or not and at his age I was surprised he hadn't tbh. I asked why he hadn't and he felt 10k was too much for one comp which I kinda agree with so I suggested he should sell 50% on blonde as loads of people would love 1-2% of the old man in it with the gte that your at least going to get a sweat since he's pretty much gtd to make day 2 playing 1 hand a level. He was pretty shocked that I thought he could sell 50% but I'm not sure why, so if anyone would be interested in taking a % of tikay in the main then first come first serve on his diary would be fair imo for when he sees sense to play it.

I want 2% plz kthxbye  Grin

A newbie appeared next door today, probably a blonde. Here's his maiden Post on the "Ask tikay" thread.

Hi mate,

I'm new to the forum.

Quick question for you.

I'm in a live game. It's a £50 freezeout.

It's a very 'limpy' table. The blinds are 25/50 and we have our starting stack of 8500.

5 limpers. We have AQ unsuited in the sb.

What is the best play here?

A Make up the 25 and hope to hit

B Rise it up to 250

C Make it 8500

TIA

The guys alias is "vinnybhoy".

Any ideas how I might construct an on-message reply?
