Whilst we're on about semantics, should that not have been a speak-easy rather than a spieler?

The stars (?) of Boardwalk Empire got up on the stage, & were interviewed, all dressed up in the 30's stuff. No idea of their names.
There were supposed to be all sorts of "names" present, but I would not recognize them anyway, so it was wasted on me.
I did recognize Ross Kemp, & a guy who apparently appears in a lot of Tarantino movies, he was in Reservoir dogs as "Mr Pink". I was given a Reservoir Dogs CD many years ago by Thewy, but I could never watch it, I had to turn off when they were going to cut that guys lughole off, way too gory for me.
Anyway, it all went tickity-boo. I was bricking it, if it went wrong, I was gonna be so dead.
Jeremy was there (BSKYB CEO) - God, to us. And you'd rather mess with Mr Pink than Jeremy. He seemed happy enough, though it's hard to tell. I may be redundant & retired this morning, for all I know.
It's a whole new world to me, all this stuff, but I love the adrenelin kick it gives me. Something different every day.
Sadly, news reached me during the evening about Vinni's mum, in a series of the most baffling texts I've ever had. I think the first just said "how unlucky is he?", (that was it, nothing else) & was from an unlisted number. I did not have the fantest idea what it meant, but a series of later texts slowly unravelled the tale. I replied "what, who?", & the reply came simply "Vin", so I was still none the wiser. It took about 6 Texts before I could work out what had happened.
Ups & downs of life, I'm out there having a ball, & a mate has lost his Mum. It's like Christmas day, when you hear an ambulance with it's siren going. Happiness & disaster make such an evocative mix.

As you were probably around in those days, Ralph, I'll take your word for that.
See you later at DTD, I'll be there at, I hope, about 4pm.

You remember mothballs? Wonderful things. Not to be confused with mints though.
Do mothballs still exist, if not, why not? Everyone used mothballs back in the day.

I once found some in a jacket pocket that my mother bought me for a wedding, think i was about 6 or 7 at the time. When explained what they were i realised my clothes came from the charity shop
.
Not sure (old sure) they would be legal these days, quite harmful if ingested i believe.

This is my first weekend off in an age, & it's happily coincided with the DTD £300, so thats the plan, & I'm hooking up with Tom & Ralph later.
We are also gonna see Mr Trumper, & re-convene the Old Farts Going Out For The Day Society.
Need to give some thought to where we go this time. I'm not sure they'll go for York Railway Museum, or a day plane-spotting at Heathrow, & maybe watching the A380 land. So doddery, the three of them.
