Btw this is MrPink.
Really? Good spot.
I was intrigued by the clips they showed, & the only films I ever watch are gangsta stuff, Godfather style, so I am seriously tempted to try & watch it.

Watched it all in the States and it gets even better. Another homerun from HBO and I really think Sky have done a great deal with this new Sky Atlantic. Watched the first/pilot episode of Six Feet Under again on it the other day. There cannot be a better opening half hour of any TV ever!!!

for what its worth I think you would enjoy it.
Ive really enjoyed what ive seen from HBO so far, infact im going to try and find something else that I am sure you will like.
Im trying to watch it on sky again too, watched episode one tues at 9 - missed episode two that came on weds at 9, wtf, I found that when i went to bookmark it for next tuesday, episode 3 was on last night. Missed that too so im not doing very well but would it not make sense for the stupid tv channel to put them on at one day/time consistenly.
The HBO stuff seems to be slow burners, all of them
I want to watch treme too.
Anyway this is what I thought you would enjoy

Stop it! I am trying to resist watching it, as I fear I'll bcome addicted. I have too many addictions already.
I don't watch telly, hardly ever, & I'm scared that if I did, I'd enjoy it, & end up being consumed by it. I've wasted too much of my life watching shite telly.
There are some weird cliffs to that mindset, but it's an odd story, relating very precisely to my childhood, where the TV was perma-on as a way of life, & probs would not interest anyone. The Telly was never turned off even if nothing interesting was on, it was a requirement to have the Telly on non-stop. So I watched a lot of shite.
Basically, my childhood was stolen by the TV in the house, & I have an inbuilt resentment to TV these days. And the irony is I work in TV now. Yup, go figure.

Played my first DTD £300 in over a year yesterday, it seems to fall on the wrong date for me every month, so was well up for it.
Played crap, but really enjoyed it. Never had chips, never looked like getting any, was ring rusty, just played defensively & badly, mostly without cards, but loved every minute, & was in for the entire day, until the very last hand.
Met & caught up with so many old friends, too many to remember, but never wasted a moment of the day & thoroughly enjoyed it.
Chatted with Thewy, Tom, Dylan, Micky W, Bedi, Barry Neville, gouty, Greek Jack, Eso Kral, Mr Trumpet, & spent hours on a Table with bookiebasher, who's game has gone seriously aggro. He outplayed me 2-1.
Thewy told me his latest addition is named "Woody" - lovely! So now he has Reuben, Hal, Barney, & Woody. If nothing else, he names kids good. Now he needs to tie a knot in it.
Tom looks well, his weight loss shows.
Ralphy Boy had to cancel, he had a migraine, poor chap.
Dylan, of whom I'm very fond, made Day 2 in good shape, I so want him to pocket a nice cash, he's had a rough few years with health & work, & he's just getting back on his feet. He's beautifully mannered, but Welsh & quite plump.
Spent an hour chatting with Rob. We never discussed Updates but we did discuss Forums at great length. He's not a big Forum fan. We did discuss some good (non-blonde) business, though, fingers crossed.
Not been to DTD for ages, but it looks as good as ever, & everything runs like absolute clockwork. In fact, it's just good discipline, anyone could do it. Nobody else does, though.
I'll go to Luton tonight for the £100, & the organisational defeciencies will be more than made up for by the gang of regs who play there, I really enjoy the banter & atmo there, good bunch.
Luton do this weird thing after a Tourney break - they won't press the "start" button until everyone is seated. Sometimes we sit there for 5 or 10 mina after a break, & they then say "is everyone seated?.....fhdmms\d\\Faarrggh.
Or they will be on the phone, or dealing with somthing else, & we all sit there like charlies. But it's not a big deal I suppose, it's worth it for the craic alone, & I think George wll do a good job. George & Dan - Raj Dan - were both at DTD yesterday, funnily enough. Maybe they'll take note, though I don't blame George for historical organisational issues at Luton, he's only just taken over.
A good day, all in all, yesterday, though I had a bunch of shite going off elsewhere which was a bit of a bummer. Hey-ho.
After I exited - 2.20am - I went home, sorted out the cat, & then returned to London, got here at just after 5am, with a Watford Gap £3.49 Costa latte lasting the whole journey. £3.49!
There are 4 Costa Cafes at Sky Osterley, & it's subsidised I assume - a large Latte is £1.10!
Edit - Add TiltBeam to the list I saw & chatted with. Not even tilted, sigh.

At last - I entered the 12's today - 12st, 13lbs.
So, if my records are accurate (I text myself my weight daily, don't ask), I've lost exactly stone in exactly a month. It has not
seemed
to be going as well as I'd hoped, just impatience I suppose, but I'll take a stone in a month any time.
I had a target of 12st by March 9th, & I'm pretty sure I'll fall a bit shy of that, but it's a notional target, I'm not much fussed, I just want to get somewhere near.
I think 13lbs in a shade over a month is a bit optimistic on Month Two, when the loss, naturally, slows down. We'll see. For sure, I'll not lose the discipline, so what will be will be.
Then I'll start pigging shite food again for a month or two, then rinse repeat the diet in the run up to Vegas. Yup, utter lunacy.

Yeah everything in the canteens at Sky is subsidised. MrsB rubs it in all the time "Had a great lunch and only cost 15p!" (Or something ridic like that)...Does my head in.

The "little" growth on my chin is giving me issues, it's getting bigger & I've become incredibly self-conscious about it, I KNOW everyone is staring at it all the time.
Thewy, without an ounce of malice or rub, motioned to me whilst chatting "you've got something on your chin, a scrap of food maybe?", & I had to expain, coyly, that it was a little growth.
So my defence mechanism kicked in, & I spent the whole day talking to people whilst covering my chin with my hands, sort of one arm crossed, the other hand covering my chin as if in "thoughtful pose".
Only one person - I think - spotted my mental discomfort, Tom, & we chatted about it on the phone today. He never misses anything, & had sussed my unease in a flash. Not sure if it's down to vanity, or what, but it does bother me a lot.
Several suggestions from friends as to how to remove it.
1) "Freeze" wart remover (it's not a wart, though) ointment from Boots, Scholl make it I believe.
2) Quick in & out jobbie via a BUPA Clinic, £50 or £100 & 10 minutes will suffice.
3) Tie a piece of cotton round it tightly before going to bed, in the morning it will have fallen off. And covered the sheets in blood, no doubt.
No idea how it does not come off when I shave each day, but it does not - it must be tough.
It does not hurt at all, & it's just a lump of skin, but it is an odd shape, like a growth, & looks horrible.
I really need to do something quickly, I'm not sure if I can do Thursday's Show with it looking so bloody silly, & I've yet to miss a single TV Show, ever.
I've been incredibly lucky with my health all my life, despite eating junk, never eating Veg or green salad, not exercising, getting regularly stressed out, & smoking. Doctors would advise againat all those things, & probably rightly so, but it's strange how we are all affected differently. The only "bad things" I've abstained from are alcohol & recreational drugs. I quit alcohol 44 years ago (!), & have never touched recreational drugs.
It's obviously not true that stress must be harmful, I'm always stressed about something, & have been for donkeys years.
As for "you must eat veg to be healthy", well I just don't buy that. I'm sure I'm wrong, but that's just what I think.
Smoking is obviously not healthy, & I guess I just go lucky. So far.

The Sky Staff Restaurants - there are 2 or 3 at Osterley, all very big - are magnificent value, with a huge choice.
Meet some interesting peeps in them, too. Regularly bump into Helen Chamberlain, & we get along terrific, though she was "not keen" on doing the Poker Shows with me, I don't believe, as we only did 11 or 12 together in all the time she was there. Tha's my guess, anyway. She preferred to work with Matt Broughton & Nick Wealthall, I believe. Can't blame her, & it did not trouble me. Well, only a tinsy-winsy bit.
Also was introduced, the week after Christmas, to Richard Keys, who looks so different in real life. I bokked him, obv. Not seen him lately though.

Not sure Poker is allowed in this Diary.....
bookiebasher & I got into quite a debate yesterday about a hand.
It's about Level 3 or 4. He has plenty, I have starting stack, maybe a bit less, say 9,000. Assume blinds are 100-200.
It's popped up to 600 UTG by tight geezer, bookie basher flats, I flat on the button, SB folds, BB calls.
I have
Flop is unconnected rainbow, 9 high.
BB checks, UTG checks, I get ready to bet, but bookiebasher bets first.
He bets (approx) 1.5k into the Pot of about 2,600, call it 4k in the middle.
I now have Q-9 on a 9 high flop, facing a 1,500 bet, & I'm playing 9k or so.
In my spot, I think I either fold or Raise it up. bookiebasher thinks I could & should just flat here, & take another card.
I'm pretty strongly opposed to that. I think it's raise (proper playa) or fold (wimp) now.
The result is not relevant, as we did not know each others hands at the time, but bookiebasher had A-T, for 2 overs, & he hit on the turn.
