You had position on me. If you flat it puts me in an awkward spot .
By raising you are pretty much commiting to the hand and the other people in the pot would not be getting
their chips in behind to Q9.
Out of the three options I thought fold was definatley the worst one. If your calling with Q9 what do you want to hit ?
I would rather hit the 9 than the Q as long as it was a raggy board.
Out of position their may be a case for raising to 'see where you are' but being on the button i'm sure the optimum play
is a call.
Did he shove and you called with AT?

I get really annoyed with the DVDs that have a warning at the start, I always end up thinking if I'd have downloaded it illegally I wouldn't have to put up with being called a thief and could just watch what I paid to watch...
It also winds up the pedant in me as copyright infringement is copyright infringement and isn't actually theft.
True, but if you're a content producer, be it film/tv/music or software (me, hence my attitude I guess), piracy certainly feels like theft.
As I see it, the big problem is that the film/tv/music producers and distributers still have their heads buried so far in the sand they seem to have missed the fact that the content market is global, and if they try to enforce/control regional distribution mechanisms, they are always going to fail. Embrace the global market, let people buy stuff where and how they like, and piracy will be vastly reduced, IMHO.

No, I wimped out & folded, & he hit his A on the turn to take what was then a 2 way pot. He had the A-T, & by then, the geezer with A-K had folded. But that's irrelevant.
I hear the argument in favour of calling in that spot, but I am never ever risking my Tourney life in THAT spot at THAT time with THAT marginal. I can find, usually, much better spots, & I have plenty of time so to do. A Raise commits me if he shoves, & I just hate calling there. So the Fold seemed the least of those three evils.
My fold can be seen as "weak", & many good judges see it that way. Depends how much value you place on preserving Tourney life, which is something I subscribe to very strongly. If I'm staked to play 20 Tourneys a night & am essentially freerolling on the generosity of a backer, it's totally different, but I'm not, I play for different reasons, with my own money, & it means I play much more conservatively, for better or/& worse.
Might - not decided yet - see you at DTD later this week, for the UKIPT thing.

Bugger, you out-thought me there!
I already saw it, & clicked the main graphic, as I was curious what it was about, but I never sussed that joystick thing.
They (google) do try & keep that homepage fresh with those little gimmicky things, & I like that quirkyness about google.
I've never quite understood, given that it's the most valuable piece of virtual real-esatate on the planet, & visited billions of times daily, why they persist with the second search option - "
I'm feeling lucky
". What's that about? How very odd. I seem to recall it's been there since Day one, too.

Oh, wow, just wow! Is that what it yielded?
Bugger, I'll now have to read those, & my dreadful pennage will be exposed to all. Interesting to see how things have changed in 5 years, though. Wow, that's some find, & I have very mixed feelings about it's discovery.
I await serial abuse now....

The "I'm feeling lucky' button was potentially costing Google $100M a year in lost revenue from it's adwords advertising.
Only a very small percentage (under 1%) actually use the button, but it means the user skips the results page and so Google doesn't have the opportunity to display the ads it makes its core revenue from. Now with Google Instant (which shows updated results as the user types in the search box), Google has managed to recover some of this potentially lost revenue without removing the button. I think Google loves its quirkiness.

Ahh, thanks, that all adds up. Yes, it does love it's quirkyness, & so do I.
I may marry google when I grow up.
What do you make of Eric Schmidt's retirement from google? I think he kept Page & Brin in check, from their tendancy to do daft things, bought some sanity to their whirling dervish way of thinking. Now Larry Page will become CEO.
Eric gets to take away a $100 million bonus, of which he deserved every single cent. google was valued at over $300 billion last time I looked. Yikes.

I just hope Google keeps on providing the most relevant search results to users - and that way it will remain as the most popular search engine.

A friend does a lot of work with Google and the illustrations are part of their community project apparently. They are helpful in communities and they ask for things like artwork back from schools and colleges etc. Nice idea.
