Amazingly, Tom spotted TWO muntjacs, just as they scurried into the undergrowth, startled by us.
I have only ever soon one before, on a Golf Course in Peterborough, & though we only got a fleeting glance, it was a big thrill for me.
They are incredibly small, not even the size of a big dog, but very shy, & skittish.
A great moment, I can't tell you how excited I was by it.
I hit a muntjac at high speed in my car, about 10 years ago.
Made a right mess of the front of my car. Don't know how it was unfortunately, as it disappeared very quickly.
I thought that was a good sign that i couldn't see it, but then someone told me they go and hide, if they are going to die. Sigh.
That's horrible.
Was the damage to the car expensive to fix? You know, like, cheap? Or deer?
Only cost a buck.

Finally, at Luton Hoo (and the day had still not finished!) Tom Posted this lovely photo today, & it was almost as if he took this photo yesterday - but he did not.
Egyptian geese, of all things, in Luton Hoo, barely 2 miles from Luton Airport.
Look away now if you don't enjoy nature, as I've been up half the night reading up on them.
You should come down to Hampton Palace Golf Course when you get a spare moment. Apart from having a grass practice range, we also have plenty of Egyptian Geese, Canadian Geese, Parrots, Woodpeckers & Deer.
I'm starting to hit a few balls again, a few weeks after having the cast off of my broken wrist. Because the wrist isn't 100%, I'm swinging slower & have stopped my ridiculous overswing and I'm hitting the ball just as well as I used too!

Windsor Great Park was today's "chill-out" venue - simply stunning. It's all about "scale", & it has grand scale. 10 minutes from Heathrow, 20 minutes from London, & yet such beauty.
Obv, I wiki'd it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windsor_Great_Park
Never saw much by way of wildlife, though, maybe I went too early. I had trouble sleeping, so I popped across at the break of dawn, when it was blissfully peaceful.
Came back, & went back to bed!
I'm enjoying trying to get better balance in my life, but it's a struggle, & I cannot do anything half-chat. Still, I'm giving it a spin, & most - me included - doubted I'd even try.
Obsession ftw.

Hi Steve,
It's a story for another day, but I MIGHT be moving to Hampton quite soon - I have the opportunity to take a Town-House just 100 yards from the river, how neat would that be?
Glad to hear the wrist is on the mend. Add more water next time, eh?
By chance, I read the very first Post on this Diary, on Page 1, today. Bring back any memories? You were in that Post!
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=25486.0
Some water flowed under the bridge since then, eh?

Last night's Show went very well, & I received quite a batch of PM's & e-mails saying as much, which is always nice, so ty ty ty to those who wrote.
The credit goes to Rich Orford, though, he is just so good.
He was not so good in the Sky Poker School pre-record though, which was for Challenge TV, & so has to be bit more "upright" & on-message.
We had to stop it, & start again, after he crossed the line a tad too far. Probably a bad idea to give him an autocue line which read "Falling in love with your hand", off the back of which, his comments got a touch risque.....
We started again, & this time I got myself into a dead end when I referred to players who think they are on a downswing, but who are often in denial that they are playing bad, & forgetting the basics, & blaming it on variance & the like. Probably not wise to have stated "these players need to get their head out of their......" & then I got stuck, & could not find an acceptable word, whilst Orford was busy egging me on.
1-1.

A lot has gone on since the old Poker 425 & Poker Week days. I did enjoy those couple of weeks in Vegas for PW. The thing I remember most was how bloody hot it was! Deciding that we would do our "opener" miles out into the desert didn't help matters either.
It'd be great if you did become a neighbour one day, you could join the golf club - they do good OAP rates I believe

We did some cash action on the Show last night, Live (or with a few minutes delay), & saw a spectacular 3 way hand, it was something like this.....
The table was £5 £10, 6 handed, & everyone had between £1,000 & £2,500 in front of them.
The hands were (something like) ....
The flop was, I think.....
And somehow Q-7 man managed to bully BOTH the other players off, on the flop! Both are good, young, lairy, winning players, too, at that Level.
I'm hoping we can replay the hand on tonight's Show, & I've asked the Producer if he can find it.

Not really bullying. Pretty sure he wouldn't want them both out.
3 way all in with 40%+ equity would be quite nice.

Well I promised myself earlier this week I'd do 30 minutes to an hour on my Diary every day, & I've failed again, but at least I tried.
Spent all afternoon clearing up the e-Mail & PM backlog from 2 days off - this relaxing lark came back & bit me on the bum.
OK, off to re-do last night's failed pre-record now, than another pre-record, then the 4 hour Live Show.
Next two resolutions?
1) Have a lay-in tomorrow morning - the 9pm - 1am Show is really quite tiring, physically & mentally, & I have an adrenelin hangover all the next day. Working tomorrow night, too, as the PTP-er, & I really need to try & pace myself better.
2) Lose a stone before I go to Vegas, & so I have about 5 weeks.
Have a pleasant Sunday evening, whatever you do.

Yes, but surely happy to tid there & then, with a good few bob in the middle already? ("bullying" was the wrong word). And if he gets looked up, fine, as you suggest.
Me, I'd be happy to take the hand there & then!

Depends what's in the pot pre compared to how much they all have back.
When they both fold he wins 'a' amount 100% of the time.
If they get it in 3 ways he wins 'b' amount 42% of the time.
If 'a' = £200 and 'b' = £6k then assuming he's only in for 1/3 of it he'll want the latter.
His net profit is £520. (6000 * 0.42 = 2520 which is his return)
Personally I'd always want to tid there and then the same as you. A long term player should really want whichever maximises his long term return on the hand.
