Responsible attitude from Matt. Irresponsible owners are the cause of most dog bites right? Better to be cautious when dealing with animals.
I used to employ this guy called Terry who claimed to have a way with dogs, speak their language etc. He owned about a dozen different dogs of all shapes and sizes, all strays he'd taken in from time to time. Looked like a right nutcase walking them down the street. But he didn't care because he lived for dogs and shared an "understanding" with them. Talked about nothing but dogs. Anyway, one day I'm at work in the gym and this dog just shoots into the club and starts running around. The dog's going crazy, barking, running on treadmills and darting about freaking all the members out. It's a chaotic scene and although all the staff try and get the dog out it's just impossible. I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do next when in walks Terry the mfckin dog-whisperer. My saviour. This guy springs into action and takes control of the situation in impressive fashion. He locks eyes with the dog and the dog stops dead. Terry moves towards dog in hypnotic way like Crocodile Dundee did with buffalo. Terry very quietly and very gently cradles dog in his arms and picks it up and starts carrying it towards the exit feeling very satisfied with himself and his wildlife skills. After about four paces that dog flipped out crazy and savaged the living daylights out of one Terry's arm. All you could hear was the dog snarling and Terry screaming like a banshee with blood everywhere. Never seen anything like it. After that animals are animals imo. Terry was ok after hospital but more relaxed about his relationship with dogs. Dog-whisperer my arse.
I still, at age 57, have the remnants of a dent on the end of my nose from when a similarly misguided belief that 'I had a way with dogs' led me to ignore the owners warnings in my 10th summer. It hadn't occurred to me till now, but I do hope that my childish faith in my rapport with dogs didn't lead to an issue for the dog or it's owners, but I think things were different in 1960s Cornwall

Thanks Matt. I exited on the very last hand of the day, end of Level 10.
The Pension Fund top up will be most gratefully received.
My next visit to DTD will be Sunday next week, for Poker for Heroes, maybe catch up then.
I'd like to meet your Dog, too. No, I mean, really.
Yes I saw it on the updates. Unlucky.
I'm hoping to be there next Sunday so we'll sort it then.
Hmmmmm....... Ronnie........
Well it's possible to meet him but I have to handle introductions carefully. He's a bit of a feisty fella at times and doesn't always take kindly to strangers.
The easiest way is if we're out walking and you just tag along and join our walk. After 5 minutes when he knows you're ok he'll be fine.
If you came round here and just walked up to him and offered your hand for a sniff he'd have it for lunch.
Thanks Matt. It was a genuine request, but I think I'll swerve it now. I'd actually be scared, I think, & although I'm no dog or animal psychologist, I would imagine that dogs sense fear, & react to it, so it'd be tempting fate. Never been a fan of my nether regions becoming the dogs bollox, either.
What's Ronnie like with ducks?

Kathy Kirby has died. She was a a huge star in the early 60's, her biggest hit being "Secret Love". Like many artistes of that era, her career was damaged by the emergence of the Beatles & orher Merseyside groups, which changed pop music for ever. She was runner-up in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest, which was, at the time, a song competition, prior to becoming a betting medium.
So many people of my generation dying, it's scary.
She was pretty, buxom, & with a good voice. Apparently she had a fling with Bruce Forsyth in the late sixties, which also damaged her career. Later she apparently became a gay icon, Kylie stylee, (see, I remembered), & then developed lesbian tendancies, before finally, being unsurprisingly diagnosed as schizoid.
I can remember her on black & white BBC1 as if it were yesterday.
RIP Kathy.

Me too, but I was just a kid staying up late after Bonanza.

Meanwhile, another of my generation continues to defy age - Goldie Hawn.
She was the female star of what became "Laugh-In" (actually, "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In") one of THE great TV shows of the 60's & 70's.
I like to see people ageing well.

Damn, I messed up my new-found resolution to Post daily, so a double dose on Wednesday.
Been a tumultous few days, but a break in the weather is imminent.
Monday was SUCH a mixed day, unbelievable, lows & highs in equal measure.

When I was a student I used to work for a guy and his wife was her dance teacher for many years. She said her personal hygiene was terrible, never used to shower, use deodorant etc and in fact she smelt quite bad a lot of the time.

One of yesterday's newspaper magazines ran a major piece on Donald Trump. Hard to imagine a more conceited & arrogant man.
He is "rumoured" to be one of the richest men in America, but I think gatters would call bs on that.
He went skinto officially once, & then after swerving the liabilities, built another empire. He owns huge swathes of Manhatten, & many landmark hotels & buildings, but I fancy their foundations are built upon layers & layers of debt. The accounts of his companies are incredibly complex, which is often a clue, too. He much reminds me of Wooly Jumper, in fact, attaching his name, or brand, to things he does not own, unless you count debt-funded minority stakes.
He was puffing himself up to be a Presidential Candidate, & used the Obama birth certificate story to gain momentum, until Obama had a little sport with him, & that was gg Trump.
It's rare to see a President so mock a citizen, but Obama got the job done here. (from 3.30 on).

Great bump, Vinni, thanks.
Won't be today, although the great slowdown has well & truly commenced, but I'm still flat out on the great catch up.
I have no TV or PTP work for 10 days now, my last Show was Thursday, & I've been chilling since, & intend to continue so to do for the next 10 days, maybe even get away for a few days.
I have to keep on top of the day job, but I've developed a routine for that which works well for me - go to the Office at around 6am, work non-stop until about 2pm or 3pm, then go get some kippage.
Thursday, however, was a disaster, worked from 6am through to 6pm, as there was a problem that I needed to attend to, then in the Studio from 6pm until Midnight. That's too much really, I have the physical stamina, but mentally I'm not as sharp as I need to be towards the end of 18 hour stints, so I won't be doing that again in a hurry.
My diet is going superbly, too, began on Monday, & the official weigh-in # 1 is not until tomorrow, but I fully expect to have shed at least 4lb, I've been mega strict.
Plenty of poker, too, at DTD on Friday, & Fox Club yesterday, (add Tourney Reports to list) may even return to the Fox for their £150 today, & tomorrow, Monday, might go to The Vic to play that Monday Night mixed game, unless Luton has something worthwhile.
The week started both wonderfully & horrendously, all very uncomfortable.
