This is something I thought of when I was reading Cos's diary earlier.

One of those things you should really see when in Borneo, but I am not sure I could recommend it.

There is a beautiful park on the site of a Japanese POW camp.

For those who want the back story, it is here.  I must warn people that this really shocked me when I first read about it.

Crombies are the dogs bollox
Truly, I've had two in my entire life, the first lasted 15 years, the next I still have, that one has managed 30 years, & it's as good as the day I got it. I never wear it, mind.
I took my Dad out on Friday night and he was talking about the coat he was wearing. He bought it to attend my first carol concert when I went to the Grammar School as he didn't have one until then - we were not well off and they seemed to spend most of their money on my school uniforms. Anyway - he wore it on Friday and I remarked that it had worn well (don't do the maths) and he admitted that he rarely wore it as it was a posh coat - so he only wore it for Christmas and when he went out with me.
It wasn't until later I realised he might have been having a dig....

It is a Crombie and a beautiful coat. Good choice.

Have a lovely break, stay off the internet. x

Well I did stay off the internet, Miss D - I had no choice, there WAS no internet, there was not even much phone signal, it was usually unavailable.

Hope the Comedy career is booming - been looking out for you on the telly!

Get it done, am incredibly proud that you have been so brave, talking the talk is easy, walking the walk, not so much.

Well I was a bit dispondant this week as my car broke down on Christmas Eve - I had to be repatriated by trailer with the AA and my car can't be sorted until next week (hopefully) if he can sort it out/get the parts. So I didn't put myself up for any gigs because I'm almost on house arrest. Still the flats tidy and ALL the ironing is done.

Then today I get an email about the competition i entered telling me my heat is THIS SATURDAY the 7th of January at the Goat Tavern, Stafford Street in Mayfair at 8pm. GULP. Which is great because I can go by train if I need to.

So if anyone wants to come along it's £6 to get in and there are about 10  -15 acts, each of 5 minutes so if you don't like one another one will be along in no time. If anyone does come please vote for me.....and please laugh at me .......Tnx

Which poker player would write a line like this amongst their NYR's?

i) Get a hobby. Badminton, running, pottery, anything that is completely non-poker and I do at least 3 times a month, it's getting to the stage now where I really need to have something in my life which isn't driven by financial accumulation[/b]

Worth taking a look, trust me, & most of us would do well if we did half as well as he does, even though he's only a kid......

Wow!

Is that the new one that crosses some or other bay in China?

I was reading about it the other day. Apparently it's over 25 miles long.

That's the baby - it has a Motorway Service Centre halfway across!

25 miles long? That's a lot of suicide opportunities.

Mrs O's barnet must be a were-wolf as it doesn't cast any shadow.
