Cardiff correct. The Cardiff RFC ground adjoins the millenium, double sided stand in fact, though they now play most at the ground by Les Croups...

yes also, the logic for not sharing grounds is very tenuous these days. Only misplaced pride and even more misplaced tribal loyalties prevent it. In Italy..San Siro and StadioOlympica being the prime two examples, ground sharing is more entrenched and works fine

Building grounds in city centres is changing, understandably. Back in the day the traffic congestion did not exist, so you needed to be near train stations etc for ease of fan's getting to the ground

That Jeremy Lin story is superb.

I have had 4 PM's about it, too, it's a cracking tale.

That Kimber fella should have considered a career in journalism. Oh, wait......
I miss being a proper journalist, probably shows. I turned down a job with Tony on The Times footy desk to stay as sports ed on TV Times, was such an easy job, could get away with turning up late and leaving early, days off when required, perfect for the aspiring poker player. Things coulda been so different. On your say so gonna go and buy The Game, don't read it that often. Tony reckons, along with Brian Reade at the Mirror, he is the only sports journalist to have been at/survived Heysel and Hillsborough as fans in the thick of it, so his writing on Liverpool is usually worth a read

How on earth does that make an iota of sense?!

I now google that Cardiff RFC signed a 20 yr contract to play at Cardiff FC, but attendances have dropped, fans unhappy etc

is the double stand, Millenium stand at the back

wiki

This came about because the WRU were unable to secure enough funding to include the North Stand in the Millennium Stadium, and the National Lottery Commission would not provide any additional funds to be used for the construction of a new ground for Cardiff RFC. The Millennium Stadium was therefore built with the old reinforced concrete structure of the National Stadium (North Stand) and the new steel Millennium Stadium structure built around it.

There is doubt about the future of the Arms Park after 2010 following the move of the Cardiff Blues to the Cardiff City Stadium. Cardiff RFC Ltd, the company that runs Cardiff Blues and Cardiff RFC, still has a 15-year lease on the Arms Park, but talks are underway to release the rugby club from the terms of the lease, to enable the Millennium Stadium to be redeveloped with a new North Stand and adjoining convention centre. However, it still has the original requirement on the lease, that the land will only be used for "recreational purposes", as stipulated by the Bute family. But the Arms Park site is a prime piece of real estate in the centre of Cardiff, which means that it may be difficult to sell the land to property developers. The estimated value of the whole Arms Park site could be at least GB£25 million, although with the "recreational use" requirement, its actual value could be a lot less than that figure.[6] A decision by Cardiff Athletic Club on the future of the Arms Park has yet to be made.[30] In 2011, the Cardiff Blues regional rugby union team made a £6M bid for the Arms Park, later the WRU made an increased bid of £10M for the site. Both bids were rejected by the trustees of the Cardiff Athletic Club.[31]

If aliens invaded from another planet & asked for an explanation of all that, they'd assume we were all mad. Did you ever see a better example of waste than this?

Cliffs plz.

The initial Post was by "Jaffa Cake", here.....

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=25486.26160

It then runs through the next few pages, if you can bear to immerse yourself in such august company, including several excellent Posts by my Yoof Corry, even one about watches, which you will enjoy.

Seriously, it really is a splendid tale, & I think you'll love it.

I loved some of the stuff (by others, not me!) on this Diary yesterday, & learned a great deal I would not otherwise have done. I'm honestly embarrassed to say I had never heard of a honey badger, but what an animal! I've been googling honey badgers ever since.

There was a video of a young bison, or buffalo, too, which had 5 lions holding onto his head, trying to eat him, & 2 crocodiles using it as a tug of war at the other end, jeez - & it survived, & the buffalos got all brave eventually & chased the lions away. Talk about "never give up", eh?

Then we had the Jeremy Lin story to top off the day.

Great tales, very inspiring.

The victory by Zambia in the ANC was quite emotional & fitting too, I thought, especially given the venue.

The players singing songs as one of their number went up to take a penalty during the shootout was quite touching, I found

and the penalty shootout was tremendously high quality, for the first 14 penalties, anyway

When I was in Borneo last week we did a bit of trecking through the jungle. We got to watch 4 crows attacking an eagle. Was pretty amazing.

Have you ever seen the battle at kruger park video? Nearly 70 million views on youtube. Absolutely amazing stuff!
