Why hasn't Sky got any
Scotch representatives
?
I imagine the sign up's would treble if they were to acquire one.
FAIL
I think you mean "Scots" or "Scottish". Seems they don't have a grasp of decent English, imo.

Poker's a difficult enough game to explain without throwing incomprehensible accents into the mix.

Oooooooooooooooooooh if Rutter is a properly regular analyst.
Any chance of some 'intro' pieces on games where they give you too many cards, and sometimes the dealer turns some face up on some streets etc. build it up into a little DC tournament or something when an SPT is run!

You're the Arsene Wenger of Sky Poker.
When I say that, I mean with the good qualities Arsene has, as opposed to seemingly never ending flaws that are appearing daily...
I think you'll leave long before your pushed and that's the way it should be. I've absolutely no idea what your relationship with Rich Orford is really like, but its your chemistry that makes me tune in (appreciate there's other presenters, but I only ever seem to catch you two). The level of poker can be basic at times, but the sense of community you two help build is what keeps people coming back.
You should be immensely proud of what you've achieved imo.
/arselicking time over
Quality..........think that's called a bak-handed compliment.
In seriousness, Orford is sensationally good, & I just hang on to his shirt tails.
Incidentally, following the rave reviews he got last night for his DTD Live Stream commentary, Tighty has today accepted an invite from me to be on the Show in March, on a Show that Orford is Presenting, & I am the "expert".
Battle of the nerdy geeks indeed.

Yup, Stu is signed up & now has scheduled slots each month.
Dunno about DC, but Omaha is now close to being something we can cover on the Show. Omaha would be a great subject, but commercially, the scope for it is so limited - the % of peeps who actually play the game, or even want to, is minute, so it's a waste of expensive TV resource to spend much time on it.

The "Tight Lines" TV Show is a tremendous watch, & Keith Arthur gets the mood spot on, & the production of the show gets it just right. I know Keith vaguely, his Studio used to be next to ours, we are not friends, but we are on speaking terms, & I've been trying to get him on 865 as a Guest, but he is always too busy.
I was quite surprised, however, to hear him dissing otters on Friday's Show, he described them as "rats" & "vermin", because they do a lot damage to fisheries & fish. I thought we all liked otters - they are in the same bracket as dolphins, whales, squirrels, & moles, we all love them.
He seemed to be suggesting a cull, or "controlling" their spread, but I'm not sure I like the notion of man interfering with the balance of nature.
Anyway, otters are nice.
Even so, I think Keith is a cut above, a great guy. He's been presenting "Tight Lines" since it began in 1995, & he has been writing for the Angling Times since 1980. Tight Lines, in case you are not aware, is in Barry Hearn's "Matchroom TV" stable. Barry's portfolio of Poker shows are dead in the water these days, but he has plenty of other strings to his bow.
Anyway, back to Keith. Given he has been so prominent in fishing & angling (I get confused at which is which) for so long, which is/are the UK's biggest participation sport by a long way, he seems to have a very low profile, I cannot even find a Wikipidea page for him. Anyone know why?
PS - Fishing is on my bucket list, for when I retire.
I fished as a lad up to the age of about 15, must have gone at least once a week from the age of about 10 - 15. Freshwater float fishing or sea fishing I would happily spend a weekend or evening doing either. Then I just stopped for some reason.
Last spring I went online and bought myself a 2 complete freshwater fishing kits and 2 complete beach fishing kits. Since then I've been sea fishing exactly twice. I really should get back into it properly. Maybe this spring / summer who knows?
One great thing is that on one of those sea fishing trips, at Mayflower Park in Southampton, Leo caught his first ever fish, a rainbow wrasse.

I caught nothing.
You can't go mentioning fishing shows without bringing John Wilson into the discussion. I guess he's not to everyone's taste but he sure likes his fishing

That picture, of young Leo with his first fish, really hit the spot, not just me, either, so many people mentioned it to me over the last few days.
Just imagie the lads pride, he will never forget that, ever, Dad must have been pretty made up, too.
I will return to the subject of John Wilson shortly.
Thanks, Aaron, a really evocative photo. I never even knew you had a lad!

Bob Nudd ftw
Best memories are from childhood fishing holidays in caravans. We used to have a static on a fishing site in Skeggy and would go every other weekend in the summer. My best fish was about a 6-7 lbs carp that I caught when about 14 and needed some help to land it. I also managed about a 2 1/2 to 3 lb Perch which is a real beauty.
My fav spot was behind a little church at Wainfleet, I could sit there for hours, even now.
Do you still fish, Phil?
I'm toying with taking it up, the solitude would be awesome.
I'm also more & more keen to buy one of those big f*** you 750cc motorbikes, too, imagine touring the west of Scotland on one of those, & it would beat the traffic in London, which I find a bit of a pain.
Ooohhhhh......

The film Pearl Harbour is on Channel Five today, is it any good or a load of rubbish. Really enjoyed the pics and stuff u put on the diary about Pearl Harbour, stuff I didn't previously know about, will watching the film enhance my interest or put me off? Have u seen it teeks? Anyone else?
No, sorry Jeff, don't watch too many films.
Keep those Lin updates coming, please.
After some subtle verbal foreplay by Jim McShane at Luto last night, Chinese Alan (his name is Alan, he's from China) was astonished that I had all the Lin stats to hand.

Have you been hacked Tony?
A motorbike, eeek. Tho if it's bikes and fishing you want then Cupcake is your man, he has taken up fishing and was going to buy another bike if he had won the 150 last weekend.
I go very rarely now, tho my dad still loves to trot to Hillsborough park a few days a week in the summer, takes his little rod and a flask and just relaxes. If he catches anything he is happy as Larry.
I sometimes join him, we just sit and chat and now and then we miss a bite but its still nice.

"The Tube", on BBC2, is mildly disappointing. It is a sort of Railway, or London Underground, version, of "Airport", more about daft people than good solid geeky stuff.
The London Undeground is a Wonder of the Modern World, but we keep seeing drunks messing about, what a waste.

John Wilson was the King of the Angling Show. His enthusiasm was infectious and obvious.
As was his enjoyment...
Thanks David, I had quite forgotten about John.
How can anyone not be enthused by him? He never stopped laughing & smiling, I love "up" people, smilers.
Do you know some people amost never smile, then wonder why life seems a bit uphill at times? Smiling opens so many doors in life, but it's not cool these days, I fancy. It's the passport to everywhere & everything. I specialise in a sort of gormless smile.

It's aimed at men, not girlies. You not got any girlie stuff to report for next door?
Tom has been chatting up that Zelda again, too. Just saying.
