Oh my.

"One never knows if a homosexual is about".

Lordy lordy, how times have changed, as to homosexuality, & racism. Not there yet by any means, but in that respect, modern society is so much better.

Any idea of the date of that Maureen? 1960 maybe?

I can only speak as I find, Mr RU55ELL, they are not cheap, but they have been good as gold with me.

I had my car serviced for th first time in two years (!) pre-Xmas, as I was heading up to Scotlland, & my car had 60,000 miles on the clock - 60,000 without a service, or even opening the bonnet! - & they charged less than £300.

That's a steal, a deal. In fact, its the ******* sale of the century.

Perhaps it's because your car's pretty new and has the 5 year service package. Perhaps they don't bother making stuff up when they have to pay for it themselves.

The thing that got me was that there was always something that needed doing. They'd always ring up with a list of recommendations. I never used to bother about what it cost so I just said to go ahead. Move forward a few years and I started to question things such as my constantly worn out pads. The one time I asked them to leave them I got a mechanic friend to have a look. They were fine.

If I had a newer BMW like yours and was more concerned about residual value I'd still use Sytner. With mine being a few years old I don't worry about that any more.

Believe me though if you take it there for tyres you're going to get robbed. It's not so much the 30% additional mark up. It's the ones that can safely be repaired for £10 where they still make you spend £300 on a new one.

Do you think you will ever progress on to 2 handed typing? Wink

Go away. Leaves me a spare hand, anyway.

50 peeps at Walsall must have come up to me & said "do you really only use one finger to type?". I thnk you sent most of them.

Yesterday go OK, such as it could?

Haha, as if I would send people over to ask that...

Yesterday was ok thanks, better than I thought, being away in Walsall in the lead up helped massively believe it or not, so in a way, you are partly responsible for that. So thank you. And to the others who either bought a share in me or were there.

And some people knock blonde eh?

Yup.

I can't believe you rung me in my room @ silly am to come down to the Starbucks in the foyer. I agreed grudgingly, as I am not very communacitive in the morning, to put it mildly, but it was very enjoyable indeed with you, Jim, & the young lady.

The next morning was not so good. Joined at my brekkie table by some lovely chaps, but who insisted on telling non-stop poker flop stories. To me, at breakfast, ugh.

PS - I think you owe me money for that Walsall stake, you bloody grimmer.

PPS - Luton tomorrow? I rather fancy another DC session. Can you recall if the DC starts @ 6pm, or 7pm? Buggered if I can.

Quite the opposite. I have a "free service package", I pay nothing, but as I was 35,000 miles OVER the due service, they advised me in advance I would have to pay. Can't argue with that, but I feared a 4 figure bill.

It came to just under £300, I could barely believe it! They never even replaced the brake pads, either. Considering that I am still on the free service package, you'd think they might just throw the lot at me given the chance they had to charge me.

I agree as to tyres, though, deffo worth going to a Kwik-Fit or similar, I seem to need tyres every 30,000 or so, & I can save over £500 by swerving Sytner for those. I bet they (Sytner) get plenty of tyre business though, lots of people don't have the time, & maybe too much money, to mess around visiting those dreadful tyre bays, which ALWAYS have music blaring from tinny radios.

Have a word with Regards, he's been as good as gold with me for 5 or 6 years now, & I'll deffo be getting my next one from him, all things being equal.

Bang on cue, thanks Jim!

I am up in Derbyshire tomorrow, due back south late afternoon, so I'll go nature-spotting @ Luton Hoo to kill an hour or so if need be.

Me, my camera, & Luton Hoo - the blondes are in for a right treat.

Can't believe this, you answered within minutes of my Post, Regards rung me within 2 minute ditto.

Care for the Elderly at its very best.

I have so much to post, but I need to sort some other stuff.
