tikay the viewing platform on the Shard opened last week
Spectacular views for 30 miles etc etc
Without googling, guess how much it costs per person to be allowed up there?
What would you consider "value for money" for the experience?
No need to google, I already tried to book a ticket. £24.95.
Value for money? Yes. At what max price? Can't even guess.
I think the perspective it would give on London, views none of us have ever seen, would be memories for a lifetime. Especially with my photographic skills.
ADD to Bucket List.
Have a view of this.....
The Empire State Building charge $25 and I would say that is far more value for money than the Shard and far more interesting things to view imo
I doubt there would be many clear days in London where you would get a clear view like the one advertised.
Tikay , if you haven't visited New York I suggest you do so, I think you would love it.
Its my favourite city in the world that I have been fortunate enough to visit.
No, never been there Craig. I would like to, but it is not top of my list.
So many things to do.......
You back in India now? Going OK?
I saw The Bandit on Friday, asked him about the twins, they are 2 years old now. Who'd have thunk? He seems so relaxed & happy now, too.
I've not seen Ash Pervais for years, what is he up to these days?
You should visit New York tikay, I am sure you would love it. There are so many great places to visit.
I return to India in a couple of weeks and Pete is going to join me for a holiday. His daughters are great and he is one proud dad. Hes the Peter Pan of poker
I havent seen Ash for a few years, not sure what he is doing.
Hope all is well with you

Last time I spoke to Ash the cash was probably 18 months ago and he was living in Dubai but I've recently heard is back in the UK now.

"Peter Pan of Poker"! About right that. He's deffo not The Bandit any more.
I remember first meeting him at Walsall, be about 2003 or 4 I guess, & I was in awe. "
He's been on the telly in LNP
" sorta thing. We got chatting, & were soon good mates.
Then I went to Walsall one day & he "wanted a word". We went to a quiet corner & he ripped me a new arse. A mutual acquaintance of ours (& you), had been maligned on blonde by someone & was steaming, so Peter said the piece should never have been allowed on blonde & it was a disgrace that I had allowed it to stay. I had not even seen it at that time, but when I got home (no such thing as i-pads in those days) it had already been removed by a Mod. I went back the next day for the Final - yes, I know, I know......and saw Pete, I told him it had been removed, & that was that, we were cool again, & we have got on famously ever since.
I asked him on Friday if the twins were walking yet. "Walking, they are running, dancing, all sorts".
Talk about a proud Dad!
Pleased as punch for him, love him to bits. He can be a bit Gosney-ish at the Table, & so the kids dont "get him", but he is one of the best guys to share a table with, just to watch him verbbally joust with everyone in his dry laconic way.
Hope he has a lovely holiday with you.

I'm a youngster in poker terms, only been playing 'proper' games since around 2007 but I've been privileged to share a table with Peter on a few occasions now. A real gent. I look forward to renewing hostilities some time.

The Honourable chap below is the Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales.
His real name is Igor Judge, but he holds the formal moniker of.....
Lord Judge
.
Only in England. And Wales.
I wish I knew why that amuses me so.

I had to google that, & good old Wiki (how good is that, for free?) rescued me.

what the shitting hell.
that must be pretty weird experience to drive along that bridge 'to nowhere' then suddenly finish the final leg underground.
there must be a reason it's done like that, weird...
