Well done on the weight loss, I'm on my annual cycle of weight loss too in anticipation of fitting into the aircraft seat, only perhaps less extreme than previously as somehow, I forgot to eat as much in winter as I usually do, so not as much damage to correct this spring.
I am also partly stopping in the Mirage, there were/are some very good deals c$70/night which makes it a decent option imo. On the back of some fairly minimal play, they also decided to "invite" me back on their coin too, which made the decision even easier.
From all your previous comments, I fancy you will find a way to make it out there, once due ditherage has been completed. I think I posted a while back that given the remit, Rio made most sense for you, based on games played, media duties, aversion to walks, price insensitivity, etc etc. But if being on site with the others is a consideration, then I certainly wouldn't put you off the Mirage (over and above telling you I will be there) I think it is well located, Venetian BigO is a simple stroll, solid casual dining options on site (or close at hand) bit weak on higher end restaurants imo, nice pool area, refurb'd rooms.
My pet peeve in hotels is having to stand in a bath tub to shower
, but that can be swerved by getting a Tower room (or better) which a charismatic man (or an uncharismatic man holding a $20) can often negotiate at check in.
Last time I offered you bone china and linen napkins for breakfast which you sensibly swerved. This year we can do it and pin Thewy with the tab.
I am much the same on the strip, but downtown it's generally unavoidable... Well, it's not a problem if you want to pay $200 a night for a room at the Nugget.

Have you seen this tony ? About the boston bombing
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f04_1366229238
Thanks Tony.
Amazing how many photos from CCTV they must have had to sift through.
Quite impressive, though the first few lines struck me as typical American paranoia.....
Photos collated on the 4Chan website show numerous images of suspicious individuals wearing large backpacks present at the scene of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Three of the men appear to be Arab or Middle Eastern in appearance, whereas another two of the individuals are white.
Either way, it was a despicable thing to do to regular folk, a real atrocity, & we can but hope they are all bought to book.
http://www.salon.com/2013/04/19/the_internets_shameful_false_id/
All that amateur sleuthing on 4chan and reddit did more harm than good it seems.

20 mins is to the Rio from a room at Palms Place. Gold Coast room to Rio Press room about 8 minutes. Very easy and probably about the same as a Rio room in yardage.
It wins on price and being a good budget option. Not great if you do all the money saved on cabs back and forward from downtown and to the Venetian.
Aren't the PLO and PLO8 cash games better at The Rio than The Venetian?
Is it good that all the Europeans go to The Venetian to play? Is it good that anyone goes to that place when the owner is a horror who hates poker?

It was terrific, & quite an eye-opener for me. I've got some stuff to sort, & I want to reply/comment properly, so I'll do so later.
I'll be there again today, anyway, so see you in a bit.

I posted this question on facebook earlier, but the only reply so far has been to ask you:
The Queen turned 87 today. I'm wondering...if she sends out congrats letters to people when they hit 100, will she be writing to herself in 13 years time? Enquiring minds want to know.

Good afternoon Mr Kendall. I have just had 2 new technological experiences this week, the first was actually seeing the ISS flying overhead and knowing what it was - no mean feat given the weather/cloud situation in England so I was well chuffed with that.
The second was having a CT scan, probably the nearest I'll get to going through a Stargate - yes I know it's not your thing but it's the easiest way for me to describe it, and wow what an impressive machine! So much so that I went off to Google to find out more about it and the inventor Sir Godfrey Newbold Hounsfield:

Stop it Marky, stop it!
Half the world are (kindly) egging me to make my mind up & get it booked. Thewy nearly booked my Hotel & flight last week! Dylan & Scotty are all in The Mirage, too. I stopped him, as I never had a Passport at the time, but my new one has now arrived, so I've solved one problem. XXX is thinking of coming, too, he'd probably room-share with me if so.
That schedule (mainly the PLO8 one) is mouth-watering, EXACTLY what I was looking for. I would not arrive until around June 9th, but I could/would play almost all of those, with the probable exception of the $3,000 jobbie, which would be a bit rich for me unless I had run well earlier in the schedule & binked a few cashes.
Not that I know the schedules off by heart, but I'm pretty sure you have missed one off - the $1,500 PLO8 WSOP affair on June 10th?

It was good to see you on the weekend mate, also very nice to meet some other blondes, especially Vince as he does a lot of off forum work and has always helped me with some spreadsheet problems I have in work etc.
I hope that you stop dithering and book everything up as it would be great to

Morning Shaz.
I had to google BOTH those things - ISS & CT Scan, but I'm suitably enlightened now.
Hope the Scan went OK.
I guess with an alias like "Supernova" the ISS would interest you, though I can't say that space exploration & like stuff interests me greatly. Or, I'm ashamed to say, at all.
Have replied to the PM, & will Update the Diary & list of proposed investors shortly, thank you.
That Sir Godfrey chap (of whom I had never heard) does interest me.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godfrey_Hounsfield
I'll add that to my "To Buy" list for my upcoming Foyles visit.
Someone recomnmended a book on here recently, I've forgotten what it was now, ffs, but I think I can find it by using "Foyles" on the Search Box.
I am re-visiting & re-reading as many of my books as I am able at present, & by odd chance, last week I was reading again the book you gave me as a gift a few years back, "Not Much of an Engineer", by Sir Stanley Hooker.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Hooker
Sir Stanley is often described as Great Britain's finest ever Engineer. Given our Engineering heritage, that is some reference.
He designed the forerunners of such great engines as Proteus, Olympus (think Concorde) & Pegasus. His Engines are, to this day, still used, not only in Aviation, but Martine & Power Generation generally.
I absolutely LOVED that book.
Every time I do an SPT Event, Clients bring me books as gifts.
At SPT London, I met one of our (next door's) Clients called "Guardsman", & he did tours of duty in The Falklands & Afghanistan, & has sent me no less than THREE books.
What a great job I have. Well, mostly. It does have it's negatives, too, but on balance, it is wonderful.

Morning Fat Bloke.
Great to see you at the weekend, & especially pleasing to see Vince who, as you say, has helped so many blondes in so many ways. He's a bit old & grumpy for my taste, but that apart, he is OK I suppose.
I was a little disappointed at the Latte count, you only got me ONE all weekend. Very poor effort.
Hope you enjoyed the weekend, anyway.
All joking apart, your weight loss really shows. Well done you. Did you see Tom (Red-Dog)? He's a right plumper these days.
PS - I've sent you two e-Mails today. Both abusive, obv.

Bugger.
You are correct, damn you.
Apologies for inferring (well saying...) that Marky had erred, too.
That explains why it is a three day Event!
