Deffo better not to take all chips at once. So many advantages to having a short stack in plo8

Haha. told him the opposite.  I just assume I am more likely to get them in really good than they are*.

GL Both of you, hope to see you heads up in a couple of days

* which is why I was out day 1 last year and you both cashed I guess.

If you do go heads up I might pop down to see you.

Seems only reasonable.

...

If you have an edge over the opposition then either

(1) you get it in better, you get unlucky - you lose

(2) you get it in better, you don't get unlucky - you win

If it's (1) then taking all your chips at once could mean that's the end of your tournament.
If it's (2) then you only need to do that a couple of times and you've got more than taking all your chips in one go - given the number of hands you'll need to play in total to win the tournament - what difference does a couple of extra one's make?

Either way what is the advantage of taking all your chips to start with?

Not the best of starts.

Turned the nut flush on K-3-8-8 with A-5-T-T, had to yield, shown K-8.

Next hand, still in the blinds, flop the nut straight and lead out, same chap flats, turn comes third spade, check bet fold, he shows me the nuts.

Lost the minimum, but lost.

Easy fold with 7-7-x-x to three way strength on a flop of....

  -7s

It gets to the river and all three are all in now, for a 5,000 pot.

River was......

Am playing the 340 at Aria. TD just announced a request for a player to come to his seat, as he's in the comp and is being blinded away. Name of Waldo.

Couldn't make it up.

Yikes, this could not be going much worse, never won or even chopped a pot in the first two levels.

Would not do a thing different if I could play those two levels again, either.

Really batters the self confidence, too, played 4 tourneys since I arrived and I cannot recall one scoop yet.

Just need to dig in, and weather the storm, and hope I still have chips when Miss +Ev finally has a change of mood. Fickle mistress, her.

Flushy is running even worse, he has 1,300, I have 3,475, and we have both taken all three tranches of 1,500 chips.

Ah well, what will be will be. I don't mind so much on my own money, but feel for my intrepid investors.

Anyway, no sign of any fat ladies yet, we might just get out of it. Don't be banking on it though.

Re. passing a %age of any profits from swops on to your investors Tony:

This is just as wrong as passing on any losses would be, even more so as I know you wouldn't be doing that. Your swops are your business.

It would also be wrong to pass on any profits/losses from cash-games, degening in all-night dice sessions, or expenses for hookers and/or blow.

Team blonde Shareholders are crushing.

Flushy spun his mini-stack up to 6,000, then lost the lost in the ugliest of coups.

Best rely on me, then

I have at least improved since last update - I won a pot. Well, chopped it. Easy game.

Boom.

Seems strange to celebrate such a minor achievement, but am back up to starting stack.

Feels great.
