Actually, I HAD forgotten, in the greater scheme of things, but not forgotten properly, just a temporary forget.

Am a bit mentally & physically wrecked today, will reply tomorrow. 100%, probably. 

Your Dad looked great on Saturday, it looked like he had been eating rather copiously.

No no, not really, not fat as such, just pot-bellied. Pleasantly plump might be a better description.

Did you know that the Crossrail will use eight tunnel boring machines (TBMs) to construct the new tunnels under London.

Each TBM weighs approximately 1000 tonnes and will be up to 140m in length with an external diameter of 7.1m. This allows for an inside tunnel diameter of 6.2m once the concrete tunnel segments are in place.To construct the 42km of tunnel required for Crossrail the tunnel boring machines will undertake ten individual tunnel drives to construct the 6.2m diameter rail tunnels.

According to tunnelling tradition, a TBM cannot start work until it is given a name.  This tradition is carried out throughout the world as a sign of good luck for the project ahead.  Since our TBMs will operate in pairs to deliver the east and westbound tunnels for each of the tunnel drives we decided to name them in pairs.

Ada and Phyllis (submitted by Emma Duncan, London):
Ada Lovelace was one of the earliest computer scientists. She worked with Charles Babbage on his ‘analytical engine’, and is regarded as having written the first computer program. Phyllis Pearsall single-handedly created the London A-Z. A portrait painter, she got lost on the way to a party in 1935 and decided the maps were inadequate. She walked 23,000 streets, and a total of 3,000 miles to compile the map, delivering the first 250 copies in a wheelbarrow.
Victoria and Elizabeth (submitted by Bryan Evans, Burnham):
Named after the two Queens, Victoria was monarch in the first age of great railway engineering projects and Elizabeth is the monarch at the advent of this great age of railway engineering projects.
Mary and Sophia (submitted by Ray King, London):
Mary was the wife of the famous railway engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Sophia was the wife of Marc Isambard Brunel who built the first tunnel under the Thames.

I imagine the 'bits' for that are pretty pricey considering a 3.5m diameter 1997 model (rebuilt in 2008 mind) is selling for $3.8 million second hand!

The SPT was great at the weekend. This was the 4th one I've played, and the first 6 max. All of them have been enjoyable. I had two contrasting tables. The first consisted of rononymous, raggy, wadey, mark mccluskey and a blue blooder. Spent the first level trying to bluff my way to a big stack and run it up from 30k to err 8k. Then I realised that plan wasn't  working out too well. Eventually got a lucky double up and then got moved to a table of sky regs, including mac monster? The guy that won it anyway. Huffy puffy reg guy joined what was a fun table, and he soon donated his stack by playing some serious poker, badly, and soon departed. Macmonster plays a slightly unconventional way, limps big hands, limps medium hands, raises both too, so I really couldn't work out what was going on with him, and he completely owned me in a few pots. Was pleased he won, and I wasn't completely surprised.

I don't totally agree with you that poker should be fun fun fun, though I do get 100% what you mean. Saturday was a good example of fun, with a bit of a serious element too. 12k ftw. Well done to all at sky and dtd. Will do my best to attend more of these in the future.

I echo these sentiments. Was a very fun PLO table. Some of the greatest value bets ever seen where pulled out by tikay £1 into £60, no problem

I so enjoyed that hour or two of Omaha at the weekend, and of course Vegas, so I poodled down to Brighton tonight to play the £110 PLO (re-entry) tonight, which starts in 15 minutes, at 8.15.

So far, it appears to be a heads up competition. It seems that Brighton are at home tonight, pre-season friendly I suppose, and most of the Omaha lads are there.

I came out without much cash on me, too, and forgot my plastic, so even if it runs, will be limited to a single re-entry, unless I can borrow a few bob from some wealthy local. Flushy is never here when you need him.

On the bright side, if it only makes a table or two, it would be daft to re-enter. The downside is that if a cash game starts, instead of the Tourney, I'm not wedged up. Actually, that is prolly a good thing......

I only realised the score when I clocked Flushy's flash motor (note for Camel, personal plate = tosser) parked outside.

If you take it down it'll be on par with Orford's Leeds SPT side event win back in the day.
