The way the mind works, Part 93

I awoke this morning to see on blonde that Dubai won the $10k WCOOP PLO last night. Great news. "Hero".

I have some action in a package that Dubai sold for a specific basket of FTOPS & WCOOP Tourneys. Even better news.

Checked the thread to see how much I had. 2.5%. Very nice. Fantastic news

Then realised that the $10k PLO was NOT in the package. He's a tosser.

PS - Well done Mr Dubai. 100% pleased & delighted. Well, 97.5%.

$215 PLO surely. Talking of non holdem games are you tempted to go to Vegas November for the Venetian DSE? Plenty of none holdem events on the schedule. Im dithering so far Smiley

Err, PASS.

The blondes paid me into the WSOP main Event. That went well......

My next Live outing - fingers crossed - will be the £500 PLO8 @ the EPT London. Be afraid.

Dithering here, too, but unlikely, I would think.

Its just a bit too much money really, the flight & hotel are the best part of £1,500, plus the Buy-Ins.

Deffo tempted though.

I want to go back to the Scottish Highlands really, I'd do Scotland in a heartbeat if it were a choice between the two. I went 2 years ago, best holiday I had, ever ever ever. It is achingly beautiful up there. And NO INTERNET.......

Every day I look at the Cottages for Rent, & so nearly press the "BOOK" Button. Don't really know why I dont.

No Problem.

Answer These Please.

1. Favourite Homemade dish by someone else you have eaten.
2. Best Ever gig (Work) you had to go away for.
3. Brown Sauce or Tomato Sauce
4. Top 5 Luton Poker Players in reverse order.
5. Cheapest Meal you have had with Vinny. (within the nearest 000)

Blimey, I'm the wrong person to ask that, it's all pretty boring.

1) Anything prepared by someone who cares. I live alone, so having meals cooked for me is a real rarity. Recently had a lovely chicken salad dish, "salad" being tomatoes, boiled eggs, & beetroot, the chicken being a hot Tesco jobbie. Wonderful.

2) Best work gig? Been so many, but getting sent to Vegas the last 8 or 9 years has to be the absolute nuts. I look forward to that like a big kid, & enjoy every single minute.

I was with Sporting Bet at one time, 2004 or 5 I think, as "Site Ambassador", which involved a bit of writing, & "Hosting" players at Events all over Europe. I was sat at home one day & the Big Man rung me.

"I need you to go to Monte Carlo for a few days the €10,000 Event & buy in two players. I'll book you a suite at The Hermitage, can you do that?"

"Err, yes, I think I can manage that...."

They send me €20,000 cash, lovely, but I decided to stop over at the Concorde in Vienna for a few nights on the way & play some cash. There was this guy at the table who had NO IDEA, & so I decided to play until I'd got the lot. It went rather badly, to be truthful. I kept reaching into my pocket & pulling up another €500 note. I did not dare count what I had left until I got back to my Hotel. Think I was sharing a room with Red Dog, Jen Mason, Snoopy & someone else, can't quite recall. Anyway, the €20,000 had become €11,000 by now. Two days later I was in Monte Carlo, & had to borrow €9,000 from Rob Yong. He was as good as gold, & asked no questions, just chucked me the cash. Yikes.

Brown sauce or red? Depends on what I'm eating, but either will do. Amazing how folks get passionate about one or the other.

Top 5 Luton players? Not falling for that......Everyone says Chompy is the worst, of course, but it's a bit cheesy now, like 5-3-1-2-4 after a photo of 5 young ladies.

Cheapest meal with Vinny? Can't say I've ever had a meal with Vinny. I don't do social eating except in THE most dire circumstances, when I can't find an excuse. Loathe it, I'm not made for small talk at meals.

I've been ducking meals in Vegas with two of my best friends, Camel & Mr Channing, for about 8 years now, every year I have the same dilemma. Just not my bag, social eating.

I did actually have a meal this year with Thewy, Scotty, & Dylan, but they trapped me, as I needed to buy/borrrow some dollars, & they had $10,000 to spare. Bastards. I had Fish & Chips, in Caesars Palace, which was lovely.

Told you I was not the best person to ask those questions.....

I have come across something in Nevada that isn't Vegas today.

The Burning Man Festival.

At first, I thought it was a mispronunciation of my home town, but no.

That feels very much like the final scene in the  all time classic film The Wicker Man with Edward Woodwood Tal.
