I read THE most wonderful Bio this week, of a Lady who died around 20 years ago. She was still working full time at the age of 103, though she took Sunday afternoons off. Gotta go to Church, see?
She had THE most extraordinary life, overcoming tremendous hardship & poverty, but she beat the lot, and some, & ended up incredibly successful & wealthy.
Look away, because I'm going to try & print the "cliffs" to her life story over the weekend.
I had known of her for some time, but had not realised what obstacles life had placed in her path before she became successful.
I spent a goodly while researching her life, but her "complete" story does not appear to be written down anywhere, so I've had to piece it together.
Mrs B?
Excellent
None other.
I've read the story a dozen times, but I had not been aware of the backstory.
I found it in bits & bobs all over the place, so can't link it, but I'll just do the cliffs.
Not sure it coud happen today - but then again, thousands still flee their homeland for a better life, & face incredible hardship along the way. Not so many do as well as she did, & under such duress, though.
Truly inspirational. When I'm havng a chunter because work is a bit uphill, or the dogs are barking because I've been stood up all day, it really helps to remember this stuff.
Probably be tomorrow, I need some sleep right now.
I almost rung you this morning, the weirdest question came into my head. I'll stick it on the Kettle Diary though, you need the views this week, TimTomSum is owning us all with the clicks he is getting this week. Bloody grief tourists.
Shit just got real
& all that.

Click after click, pwn after pwn. Are these stats available for everyone to see, or just a mod privelage?

You are owning us hard.
You can see the number of "Views" on every thread (alongside "Posts").
Just measure them from day to day, or week to week.
Enjoy it while you can Sonny Jim, I've got a cracking concrete story lined up. Where will you get your views from then, eh? If you said you loved me, I'd Post it on your Diary if you like. You gotta say it nicely though.

When I was younger I was warned about this kind of thing.
Perhaps a few strips of Flexcell would have prevented your upcoming concrete soliloquy?

Very clever, brilliant even, I'm liking your research levels.
Wish I had a quid for every strip of Flexcell I've used.
Reminds me of a Flexcell expansion joint story actually. It's bitumen impregnated, you know.
Kiss goodbye to all those Views you were getting, they are all here now.

My research levels? I measure this stuff pretty much on a daily basis. For all those concrete enthusiasts out there, there is somewhere else you can go for concrete stories, ones that will be up to date with current regulations too.

Competition? You're the Class F1 to my F3. That's right, I went there......
I want to say something like, the excrement is now a reality, but not can't find the phrase for it.

I've only really been reading TFT for a few weeks, and have sort of stopped again recently. It's a great thread, but I have no interest in betting. You have said that it's takes up lots of time etc, which I can see why, and have noticed that you have missed stuff, due to not being online. Would it be a good idea to get an assistant for placing bets? Someone like chompy, but trustworthy
