She's a working first instance civil judge.
$50,000
Not as I understand it, she retired from being a Family Judge in the early 1990's.
"Judge Judy" is a reality TV Show, not a "real" Court, though judgements are made, & funded by CBS.

Incredible, it blew me away.
She's got a private jet, yacht, homes in Connecticut & Florida, the whole works.

First instinct was similar to Matt, and then I levelled myself.
Should have thought again, remembered it was America, and then added a bit more for good measure!

$3m?
$45 million per year
until 2015.
She works 1 day per week - they record 8 or 10 shows in one session - so her daily rate is $900,000.
How can she be worth more than Wayne Rooney? Ridic.

Not seen it for a long time. Thought all the judgments were binding? Is that just a telly thing?

Wiki says......
The award limit on Judge Judy, as on most "syndi-court" shows (and most small claims courts in the U.S.), is $5,000. The award for each judgment is paid by the producers of the show from a fund reserved for the purpose.[38] Sheindlin rules by either A.) issuing a verdict of a specific dollar amount (not always in the full amount of what's requested and rarely if ever in excess of what's requested even if she believes complainants are deserving of more) or B.) by dismissing the lawsuit altogether. When ruled on in these manners, cases cannot be refiled or retried elsewhere. However, if Sheindlin specifically dismisses the lawsuit "without prejudice", that lawsuit may be refiled and retried in another forum.
If there is an exchange of property, Sheindlin signs an order, and a sheriff or marshal oversees the exchange

Tikay, i hear you make reference to SEO in a former post and was amazed you'd heard of it... what with you being the wrong side of 80 an all. So with that knowledge gap bridged, i thought i'd venure a post in your here inauspicious weblog. I deal with SEO almost daily in my job. It reminded of a joke i heard.
An SEO specialist walks into a bar, pub, lounge, hostelry, irish bar, and orders a drink, beverage, beer, wine, house wine...
you get the picture.. I thought it quite clever.
cool story huh?

the times, yesterday
Not wrong - The Times has featured a front page photo of Her DuchNess every day since their Tour began.
Today, she is back, but relegated to Page Three. "The Times" Page Threes are a tad more subtle than those in The Sun, thank the Lord. A flash of thigh is more than enough for Times readers.
Here is today's photo, for her millions of admirers.

Afternoon Gregory, & welcome to this inauspicious weblog. It'd rare I discuss
online poker
here, so it makes a nice change.
You may well be "amazed" at my knowledge of SEO, but it's a key ingredient for an Online
Poker
business, as you presumably know.
When I was in business, pre-retirement, computers, internet, SEO were in their infancy, & I shunned them as much as I was able.
I joined Sky Poker in 2006, & it was a real culture shock to see how important SEO, (& latterly Social-Media) are in today's Online Gaming world where it is about persuading people who want to
play poker online
to choose this or that site. They have a whole team of people employed specifically to sweat these areas, & everyone in the Business gets trained in their use, & importance. I get my arse kicked daily by players who think they know better how to run a poker site, & I understand that, because I also used to have that lack of awareness of what makes an Online Gaming Site work.
Essentially, acquisition (signing up a constant flow of new Clients), & CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) are critically important. A new Client has an annual & lifetime EV to a Business. Pay too much in CPA, & the numbers go haywire. Acquire new Clients for less than their Annual/Lifetime EV, & you have a winner. EV includes, of course, that the churn rate is factored in. Players tend to pass through poker, some go busto, others retire, or die, some open restaurants, move to other sites, some stay around forever, but the point is, a constant flow of new blood at a sustainable CPA is required.
So SEO becomes a vital tool, & the use of keywords paramount.
I could blather on all day about this sort of stuff, but I'd best leave it at that, I think, as I prefer this Diary to be a relaxing place where I can escape the unpleasantness & personal attacks my job seems to arouse in some.
So, back to your cool story - yes, very good.
In return, I've emboldened three phrases in my reply......
Online Poker
Poker
Play Poker Online.
The value of those three keywords/key phrases is monsta, absolutely monsta, because a Online Poker Site always strives to be in the top 4 results when those words are googled. Achieve that, and a very big box is ticked.
So, moving on, how is your golf these days? Still +2, or whatever ridic handicap it is?
What do you do for a living, anyway? No need for names & pack drill, just what line of work?

It will be 8 weeks, come Sunday, since the Malaysian Aircraft simply disappeared off the face of the earth.
It beggars belief that such a big thing, bristling with electronic devices, in a world where everything in the sky is tracked by any number of private & civilian agencies, could completely disappear, "just like that". There was no "Mayday" Message, nothing. It just disappeared.
They currently have a defined search area, but they've been there weeks & not found sight or sound of a thing, except false alarms. They don't actually KNOW they are even remotely close to the correct area.
Meanwhile, the thread on PPRuNe runs to nearly 17 million views.
The whole thing is extraordinary.

If you watch Family Guy, you cannot have failed to notice, in the credits, this name......
I was pretty sure it was a spoof name, or some sort of private joke which whooshed me, but it turns out to be a real person. Probably.
