Does Ronnie still like his cheese slices ?
Has half of one every morning without fail.
It's like his 'I'm of to work so I'll see you later' treat.

I read this book recently, & highly recommend it.
Quite a story behind it, too. Steve Wynn - he of Wynn, Encore etc - blocked it's publication for 8 years, & almost sent the original publisher skinto. Quite how it got published at all is a mystery, laying bare, as it does, the truth behind Steve Wynn, who, it seems, is as bent as a nine bob note.
He has very close ties to the Mafia, & his casinos (originally Golden Nugget LV & AC, & later, Mirage), was their main conduit for laundering money.
In one laughable episode, it tells of a mafia wiseguy (a wiseguy is a Mafia "Made Man) who came to Golden Nugget Las Vegas every Friday, with around $1.3 million in cash. In $5 & $10 dollar bills. In eight suitcases.
Before the days of automatic counting machines, this would take staff several days to count. However, he was given credit for the whole assumed amount, before it was counted. The wiseguy - Fat Tony or whoever - would spend all weekend gambling on credit, during which he'd lose around 15% of the total. He would then be paid out in "clean" $100 dollar bills. That cash would then be taken abroad & deposited. Everyone's a winner.
A summary - a bit long - is here....
http://www.newsnet1.com/electricnevada.com/pages96/wynn.htm
He was a serial philanderer, too, he'd spot a pretty staffer, click his fingers, & go upstairs. He'd do that several times a day.
He built an amazing golf course in Las Vegas, too, "Shadow Creek", cost $70 million, then another $60 million to upgrade it after Tiger Woods shot a 61 there, which upset Wynn greatly. You cannot buy Membership there.
See if you can spot where it is....
Well worth a read. And he's deffo a wrong 'un.

Tony. How can you not watch even one episode of Breaking bad?
9/10 blondes can't be wrong.

Well they might be......
It's just subjective, Tom. I'm not really into fiction stuff.
I watched "Yellowstone" again last night. Hard to top stuff like that.
I'll have a look at the Wiki page though, promise.

There is a pretty amazing episode that is all about a train

I think there are something like 65 golf courss in Vegas and they are one of the main reasons Lake Mead is shrinking and Vegas water supplies are predicted to literally dry out in our lifetime. I love golf but have never been tempted to play whilst in Vegas, it always seems too hot!

Not sure golf courses are the prime cause, but they are certainly one of the reasons.
Population growth in the States serviced by Lake Mead is the main cause, I suspect.
Three of the seven states in the Colorado River Basin led the nation in population growth from 2000-2010. Nevada grew 35.1 percent, Arizona 24.6 percent and Utah 23.8 percent.
The four other states in the Basin––California, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming––all showed double-digit growth. The region added more than 6.9 million people, accounting for one quarter of the nation's growth in the decade.
This graphic & photo shows the water level historically, & since last October, since when it has dropped a further 3 feet.

The "tide mark" is quite scary, fair to say.

That's very revealing, Ian Hislop did a whole Show on Beeching last week. Beeching did exactly what he was commissioned to do, & he did it well. It may prove to have been a mistake though, & in due course many of those lines will re-open I believe.
Parts of the West Country in particular, & Scotland, suffered terribly as a result of rail closures.

I had occasion to visit Waterloo Station early on Sunday morning, fortified by my usual latte or two, which resulted in the need for a wee.
30p. For a wee.
I never hesitated, I just splashed out the money.
Pleno is winning zillions every night, Posh Alex is traipsing all over the Benelux countries playing silly games, but I can top that - 6 bob for a wee.

When you think what we used to get for 6 bob, it is a lot. To be fair, you could have a full bowel evacuation for the same 6 bob. Sort of BOGOF.
I used to get 5 Woodbines, & half a pint of mild ale, & there would be 4 bob left for the rest of the week. Petrol was 5 bob a gallon at the time.

Snooker cost two shillings an hour for the light, and we though it was robbery.
